Nothing went right. Took a few guns that I haven't had a chance to shoot and each had something wrong, probably me.

Glock 17 Norfolk police trade
Colt Official Police 1930s
S&W 28-2
Sig P220 9mm European heel release.

Ammo used
-9mm PPU 115 fmj. Agula HP don't remember the grain
-38spl WWB 130gr fmj
-357 mag Magtech 158 gr lead nose

All shooting done at 10 yards or so

Where do I begin?
OK so the Glock as expected shoot both brands just fine BUUUT. ...for some reason I was shooting about 2 inches left. Now I know it's not a target gun but give me any Glock and I can keep all shoots center mass with quick shooting. In all my police guns, which is most of them, I've never had to adjust sights. Not even for new guns. And on top of that I was kinda all over the target chest area. Weird.

Anyway, I figure let's move on. Grab the Sig P220 and load a mag of PPU 115 gr fmj. All fine...bang, bang, bang, empty mag and reload. This time I was closer but still shooting left. Reloaded with the Agula HP and thinking that since this is an older gun, late 70s, it probably won't handle hp too well. But what's the worst that can happen? Not feed? Then I'll just pull that ammo and continue with the PPU. Well I was kinda right. The first round wouldn't chamber. Lock the slide back but now I can't take the mag out due to the round being half way out. Can't push it back in either! WTH! I pull the mag down enough to pull the slide off. Finally managed to push the round back in the mag but the mag won't come out. Goes about half way out and stops. In, out, in, out over and over and nothing. But it inserted fine. I'm thinking it's the ammo since there was no problem with the PPU. Eventually I managed to get the ammo out of the mag and it slid out just fine. Done with that one for today. Next!

Colt Official Police. Shoots fine, almost no recoil with the WWB 130gr fmj but I'm not hitting much of anything. After a few cylinders of ammo I settled down and it was pretty accurate but once again it never takes this long. I'm usually one target.

S&W 28-2. 6 inch barrel. The WWB 130gr recoil was....well ....none existent. Accurate gun too. Moving on to the 357.....Yea apperently I forgot to bring that so I buy a box of Magtech 158 gr lead nose and start shooting. BANG, BANG, BANG, CLICK, CLICK, BANG. Next cylinder, CLICK, CLICK, BANG, CLICK, BANG, BANG. Here we go again, now what? Seems like some of the rounds needed a second strike and some didnt. I'm guessing it's ammo primer related since it wasn't a problem with the WWB. Or maybe a combination.

Either way at this point I was done. I finished off the 9mm through the glock. Aiming to the right more I hit center mass.

Packed up and went home

Check the 28 and make sure the strain screw is turned all the way in.

Some days chicken, some days, feathers. :)
Stupid question. What's a strain screw?
Try not to get bent out of shape too much. Everyone has bad days with anything at some point. Get back on that horse in a week or two and I bet everything will be back to normal.
Oh I will but instead of taking 4 I'll take one which I normally do anyway but I had a free pass and tried to squeeze a few guns into the session. Next time I'll bring the Glock and several hundred rounds and try that. What bothers me is that I had my daily carry Glock 19 on me and didn't think to try it to see if it was me or the gun. I know how I shoot the 19 so if it was different I would know that the sights were off but of course I thought of it only after leaving

I always make sure to bring my blackpowder guns with me. If anything goes wrong, or they lock up, I keep a rubber mallet in my bag to beat on them with. That generally fixes things. It is only when I forget my mallet that problems arise. Then I have to go find a big rock.

I'll add to the chorus of check the strain screw on the 28-2. I had a similar problem with my 13-4 3" and tightening the strain screw fixed it. It could just be that whatever primers Magtech uses need a bit more umph.

As for the Colt, you just wrestled with two other guns and were no doubt a bit off your game.

The Sig P220 is supposed to be a great gun, so I'm going to guess ammo again.

The Glock? No idea, but some days I can't hit the side of a barn with my 5906 for no apparent reason.

Of course even a bad day at the range is better than a good day at work! :)

Wait until you have a range trip wrecked by a visit from the EGF, Evil Gunsafe Fairy. For me the EGF has removed all my FAL mags from my gunbag as I left the house and even managed to swap an Argentine Mauser in a gunsock for a Turk. Another day it took all my targets out of the truck and put them back on the shelf in the garage. I knew I had not done it as the stack was too neat.;)

So that's what does it? I feel much better now. Thought I was just an idiot or something.

Last trip I found that I hadn't brought any .380 ammo for my kid's Bersa or anything to shoot at with the AR. We ususally take either those rubber ground bouncing targets or old cat litter buckets to shoot at with the AR. It's more fun than punching holes in paper.

I suspect the shooting left issue was just you. One gun maybe, but two in a row? It's unlikely that it was the gun. Most likely just unfamiliarity with the trigger.

Glad you diffused the Sig with no accidents, good on you....

The worst range day recently was when a friend and I drove to an outdoor range that was forty miles from home and discovered that the the box with the ammunition had been left at home. The range is located in an area where there is no place to buy any ammunition...So, after some cursing and laughing, it was forty miles back.

A guy bought a bbl for a Glock from a local gun shop. The bbl came from the Norfolk PD property room. It made the local news. Never heard the outcome.Shop owner is a Retired Norfolk Officer.

Sounds a lot like my last bad day. I brought five rifles and only had ammunition for one. Kitchen tables should be banned! Luckily my range does sell some ammo, this is how I discovered my 1885 really likes Hornady Leverevolution .45/70.

I got to the range once and realized I had left my 1911 mags at home. At least that wasn't the only one I took to shoot. Put another score in the Revolver box.

Buddy and I met at the range as he had a new rifle to try out. He had small children at home so had a trigger lock on it. He forgot the key and drove the 15 miles back home to get it. He was determined to try it out though.
I went up to my buddy's family cabin with him and his son. We all brought some guns to shoot and I'd brought my Ruger 10/22 Target that I'd done some upgrades on and had bragged it up on how accurate it was. Got our targets and guns setup and discovered I forgot to bring a magazine so it became a single shot gun which was a real pain to load.
