Besides being an utterly stupid idea...

Can a mayor actually do this? At an extra dollar a bullet that will make bulk ammo unsellable. I don't see a word about rimfire either. Good home defense ammo is already at or over a dollar a cartridge. Add a dollar each and that will be the least affected and yet still double the cost. It sounds pretty anti "Shall not be infringed" to me.

I guess he doesn't think you can leave town for ammo or you can just steal it or if a thief/mugger/dealer/thug/whatever will give up crime than pay that extra dollar...

Not going to be a lot of legal ammo sold in Baltimore. Although it might be a career opportunity for those looking to get into the new black market ammo industry.

The mayor is an idiot. However, having lived and worked in Baltimore, Maryland for about a year, I would expect nothing less from that city or state.

It will probably be passed, the city will be sued and eventually lose at the Supreme Court, and then the city will be out several millions of dollars that it could have used to say hire more teachers or police.

Just remember, Maryland is a very "progressive" state. Baltimore must be the most "progressive" municipality in Maryland.:D
