Yesterday I bought 200 rounds of .44 Rem Mag for $15 (appr. after money conversion) for the lot.

Since I've heard and read some about high ammo prices in US I got curious about it. And what did I find!?

In EU we can obtain 9mm Magtech 124gr fmj for around .40 cent.
When I look at Cheaper than dirt:s web, they charge .80 cent.
Couple of years ago I paid under .20 cents for 9mm.

For a .38spl we pay around .50 cent and CTD "offer" them for $2!

It seems to be about the same difference thru out any caliber.

What is going on?

And I really hope that the ammunition price you have in US stays there. I find it expensive enough here in EU.

Well, once again I have to replay to myself.

I search for cheap ammunition us on line and find, what I thought was a decent dealer. But it turns out that "Cheaper Than Dirt" is one the most expensive dealers found.

So when I look at other sellers, I don't think the prices differs that much between EU and US.

From what I have seen, Cheaper Than Dirt's dirt is actually gold dust. They are among the most expensive retailers and I think I read that the Texas state attorney general is investigating them for possible price gouging during the pandemic/panic. Their prices have come down, at the peak of the panic they were offering 9x19mm FMJ ammo at $1 per round.

At what point does free market supply and demand become price gouging ?
Seems to me oil companies have been doing this for years

That's a Cheap price for 44 Mag!
As I reported, this past Thursday I bought 9mm FMJ for $16.99 a box of 50 at Cabela's.
That would appear to be the new 'regular' price here when you can find it.
After I bought 8 boxes, they only had about 10 boxes remaining.
