:) Nice to watch but their prices for those cars are way out of my price range. Don

Nope, they are reasonable but only for the best of the best. A person that has never been through one of their auctions cannot understand just how nice and accurate the car must be to make it to their auction block.

It is a matter of priority in life. If you really want a 1957 Chevy Belaire convertible, then you would not mind spending a quarter million dollars for it.

They usually show only the highlight cars , the ones that bring the big money. Those go on the last day or so. The 'drivers' usually go in the first few days.

Ya know, I love watching these auctions. I have some observations about the latest Las Vegas auction, though. First, it was very obvious that they did not have the big bidder crowd as at some other auctions. Was that a statement about the hobby in general or the auction itself? There were a lot of empty seats even on Saturday. Second, their auctions lately have tended to focus on one make of cars. This one was very heavy on Chevrolet, and one other recent auction was heavy on variations of the new Mustang. I like more variety. Mopars are number one with me but I like all cars. My favorites were the Crosley Wagon, The Graham, a 50's Cadillac hardtop, The VW Microbus that sold for $100K and (WOW) that GMC Suburban.

I've seen lots of Crosley cars[almost all built for drag racing] but never a woodie wagon.I have it all taped;went to Lucas oil drag racing. Will watch Sat's.auction later.Great car show if you're like me with no money! ;)

Good indicator of the state of the economy. There have been some screaming good deals this year at BJ.

CEO Jackson did a real class thing yesterday. The winning bidder on a Bugatti Veyron reneged on a big bid($700,000?). He stepped in and bought the car to make the seller whole. He said any of the other bidders who wanted it that it was theirs. Otherwise he was just going to keep it himself. I know this protects his auction's reputation but he didn't have to go that far. Good job sir!

They immediately yanked the "winner's" credentials and escorted him out.

A class act (sic) and now we have some idea of what his reputation and word is worth to him. Outside is where he belongs. I love to watch the auctions and dream and have a good dose of nostalgia. Unfortunately I'm like an old Roy Clark sayng " If they were selling steam ships for a dime apiece, all I could do is run up and down the bank and holler; ain't that cheap" There is one blonde attractive lady that must have a printing press. I watched her buy a million bucks worth of cars and never bat an eye. Whooo, how much do you have to have in order to do that.

My problem with Barret Jackson is both the seller and the buyer pays a commission on the sale. I feel only the seller should have to pay a commission.

the blond lady has a car museum. she has been to these auctions before and buys like crazy. owns something like 11or 12 vipers. they did a story on her at last years vegas auction but don't remember all the particulars.
