We met the kids at Angostura Reservoir today. They came in from fishing to the beach to grille steaks under a large cottonwood tree. Very hot for here, low 90's. A small bat came swimming into the beach, doing what appeared to be a breast stroke with its wings. Grandson picked it up with a forked stick. There was an opening in the cottonwood tree roots, forming a cave about like a metal garbage can in size. We checked a little later and the bat was clinging upside down as bats do and hissing at us, so guess it was OK?Guess the bat skimmed to close to the water surface, and went for a swim?
