I came across an ad by a guy who had a video pushing sale of his "EZ Battery reconditioning guide" He claims his process can recondition to like new about any type of battery. What he is selling is a NYC phonebook size "Guide". Regular price $47.00 rush order and get it for only $27.
I know some batteries can be desulfated some can be equalized to lenghten their life.
The video is 18 min. (Thank goodness for fast fwd) long same thing over and over "buy the method buy the book, save hundreds. No way I'm buying that!
If you google "renew batteries EZ" you will see it.
Anyone know what this guy is talking about?

Lead acid batteries can get a build up on the plates which hurts efficiency. Both Battery Tender and Schumacher make a charger that automatically checks for this and will do a de-sulfate cycle. I own a Schumacher and it does work however if it develops a shorted cell there's no fixing it. Using a Battery Tender on seasonal stuff like mowers and watercraft will greatly increase their usable life providing they don't short out internally.

The old NiCad batteries which you rarely see anymore could be cycled and sometimes bring them back. They would develop a "memory" if not completely drained regularly before charging.

NiMH batteries are well on their way out but you still see them from time to time. They don't develop a "memory" like the NiCad batteries but would still benefit from cycling occasionally.

The new battery is Lithium-Ion which are what you find in most tools now along with smart phones and laptops. Most devices that use these have electronics built in that limit the amount of charge and discharge. Going above or below a set voltage is both bad for the battery and can be dangerous. Charge rate is also important with these batteries too as too slow is not good for the battery and too fast may cause a fire.

All batteries eventually lose their juice no matter how well you take care of them. Perfect example, my wife's car battery took a dump this morning after working perfectly yesterday and it was only 4 years old. If it were me, I would save my money as I don't believe this guy has found the battery fountain of youth.
