I recently acquired this in a package gun deal. It's really clean, shoots to point of aim, and runs flawlessly with S&B and not so good with Magtech. I've read the history and have read it was the best of the little .25's.

I figure I've got $150 into it, is it worth anything? Is there any collector value?

thanks,

Dan

Bassetman,

That's nice little Baby Browning clone, I had one (Bauer) years ago.

Definitely worth more than $150.

Check the auction sites, I have seen them for sale from time to time.

Thanks adwjc

The day I bought that thing one went for $400 on GB without the box, and ever since the one's I see on GB never reach Reserve and piddle out at $225, so I can't get a good feel.

Pre-recent firearms pricing madness, those Bauers regularly sold for around $200 or so, maybe a little more with box and other goodies. They're topping out at $225 on reserve auctions because that's about all anyone who understands their real value will pay. You did good at $150, especially in today's market. I need to pick one of them up myself, considering they were produced right down the street from me.

That's cool! I've seen the model TP-70 before in print but ignored it because I had no idea what it was, now I know. Nice looking grips!

If that gun runs well, I think its value is in that it may save your life, not in what money you can get for it.

I want one, but lean first toward the Beretta M-950 as being the most reliable .25. But I like that stainless Bauer/Fraser item, too.

They don't grow on trees, and yours is about new. Keep it. Too many on this board seem to buy guns just to flip them for a profit. To me, that is not what guns are about. I buy them to keep them and enjoy them.

Sure is in nice condition.
I've seen a couple around lately for $150, but they were beat up and the grips were cracked and glued. They sold anyway at that.

The Bauers were pretty much a straight accross 25 Browning clone,,but you even got a (stainless) steel trigger in the Bauer,,unlike the Browning were you got a plastic part in the later production. Seems like the Brownings mag latch may too have been plastic on some production.

Good little pistols but like any of the mouse guns,,they can be ammo sensitive.
A good value at $150 I think.

Baur, nice little guns. Mine ran great on S&B too. Also Winchester or Federal. Didn't like PMC, never tried magtech.

I don't buy to flip. If I did, I'd buy different stuff. I like older unique guns but my tastes change from time to time. It seems other people don't like my taste when it comes to horse trading. I had five .257 Robert's and when it came time to deal those away, nobody wanted such an obsolete cartridge.

I bought the Bauer on impulse with two other guns. It's not my ideal carry gun. I'm a J-Frame and 1911 guy. Might just keep it anyway, I've never seen one before.

In the 80's when l was a patrol officer l carried one in a spare handcuff pouch for backup.Reliable, accurate, caliber left something to be desired.we didn't have the multitude of pocket pistols like we do today so it did serve a purpose.

I had one a while back but never had any luck with it. Every time I shot it, the Magazine would fly out. Sent it back to Bauer a few times and they were unable to figure it out either. Used it along with some cash to buy a NIB Dick Spl. a few years ago. I also bought a Colt M1908 in 25 acp. which works perfectly. I would never use it for self defense (mouse gun) but I just thought it was cute and belonging in my collection. Glad yours is better than mine.
