Has anybody here wanted to mount a bayonete to their M&P 16 inch barrel with the carbine length gas system?
If you have, the bayonete ring goes about 1 1/2 inches past the flash hider and rattles around on the barrel.
I would like to make a bayonete barrel adapter for this mismatch. Before I invest any more time or money, can I get some opinions on this.
How about a good name too.
Thanks in advance.

No. It's just that some people like to be able to put whatever accessories they want on their rifles. This is just adressing an issue that I have read posts about.

That's way I went with a 14.5" bbl on my build.

There was a company that made a long handle M7 type bayonet but as an adapter for a standard M7/M9 blade would be something that locks on the existing lug and extends out the add length to fix a bayonet. A second option would be to add a clamp fixture to the bbl that dropped done a bayonet lug. Good luck.

I have the same problem with a Stag Arms AR. I bought a S&W bayonet (which is realy nice by the way) but it rattles around on the barrel. If you find a solution please let me know.

Just got the Bayonet Barrel Adapters in from the anodizer. They look awesome, better than most parts on the rifle.

This is a super simple add on. Just remove your existing flash hider and crush washer. Slide this over the threads. Put on a new crush washer. Tighten your flash hider til it's timed correctly. Done
These weigh .4 OZ.
If you can't see the adapter, great. It is the dark part behind the flash hider.
If you want to see it on my website, just add .com to my name.
Let me know what you think. I need the information. PM if you want or send an email to [email protected]

That seems like a lot of work to install and remove. I don't know of many people that run around with bayonets on their rifles.
Good job on the part though.

It's super easy. When you change your flash hider, you can add this behind it. I don't know of anybody who runs around with a bayonet on a regular basis. But some people like to have the option.
And options are one of the accelerators of BRD.

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't run around with a bayonet on a rifle because I think I need one. I want a bayonet just to upset all the people that think I should not have one.

Excellent point. Exercise our freedoms or lose them. Even (or especially) if it bothers some people.:)

I picked up a bayonet for my AR a while back.
It also fits on the 12 gauge Mossberg 590.
I think the shotgun would be quite impressive from the business end with the bayonet mounted.
