A little while back I picked up this delightful victory model. The engraving on it is masterfully laid out and beautifully executed. The engraving ”canvas” of a Victory would not nave been my first choice, but the artistic engraving, layout and coverage are very pleasing to my eye. I need to get the good camera out treat this beauty to a glamour photo session, but for now these iPhone photos will have to do. 😎 😁

I have not bought a Victory model because I considered them an unattractive gun due to the finish, a service gun with a great story. However, this shows off the beautiful lines of the revolver. I would not have identified it as a Victory model.. You may not think the engraving is fancy enough but it truly enhances the lines of this gun. Love the way the grips were done - all in all, a handsome piece of art with a real history.

Very nice! Possibly done in Germany post-war? The grips look like those often found on British conversions. Very similar to this one found on a closed auction although yours to be a 5” barrel. Is it 38 Special or 38 SW? View attachment 757480View attachment 757481

I agree that it was probably engraved in Germany, but maybe in England. It is 38 S&W (not Special), and Yes your pictured 4", aftermarket ribbed Victory does look like it may have been engraved in the same shop.

This next pictured Victory is almost a twin to mine and almost positively engraved by the same engraver as mine. I had this photo in my photo files. I am not sure where I lifted the photo from, so I unfortunately cannot give credit for the great photo. When I first saw the photos of the one that I purchased, I thought that it was this exact gun. A closer examination shows small, but noticeable differences.

I'd love to hear the differences that you find in your comparison. :)

Speaking of the grips, are you going to put something a little more becoming on that beauty?
I've been having conversations with Keith Brown. We'll find something to dress it up a bit.:) It will probably be a set of "service" stocks so as not to cover the cool engraving on the grip frame...

You certainly can’t go wrong with anything from Keith, although something like this is what I had in mind…..
