... And learned a lot from this forum as a primarily SA fan, but my interest has peaked in S&W since I found a practically NOS '78 Model 57 for consignment (Keith Ropers were added later), and most recently, a '54 K22 I picked-up on consignment as well here in CA. More pics of the K22 to follow once I pick it up next week.

Paid a premium for them both but am happy which is all that matters. Gotta do what you can here in this state and buy when you see, otherwise get lucky on a CA gun forum's classified with someone local, which is also a great resource:

And a Hound Dawg Howdy to you from SC!:)

Them's sho is purty guns.:D

PS: It's great to hear from gun owner in CA.

Thank you. Nice to be welcomed by a gun owner from the beautiful state of SC, a state which I've stayed many times and enjoyed.

Honestly, the gun shops I deal with are top notch in my area, but the clientele isn't primarily geared toward those who enjoy finer steel, which can be broken-down into category: 1) Those responsible owners/enthusiasts and LEOs who are into other platforms, and 2) Well, those "others" if you catch my drift... Although there are a lot here who do appreciate a good Smith, but they are somewhat drowned-out... I'm 30 minutes away from Mr. Culina even.

Although the price I paid is significantly more than your 'used case' glock or Saturday night special, I've felt like a "CA S&W vigilante" in acquiring what I can when the opportunity strikes, knowing it's in good hands, versus it being possibly neglected or unappreciated.
