"May you all be in heaven a half-hour before the devil knows you're dead."
I have my green shirt on that reads: FBI - Full Blooded Irish
(I was born there and came to the great USA as a wee lad)
And a shot of Irish whiskey is me coffee as I write this.

My mother is of the O'Brady's (one of the 5 High Clans) and the allied Kelly's (the biggest clan). Her dad was a Ferrill (Cornish but still a Gael). According to legend, we are supposed to have our own Bean sidh.

Family came here during the Famine. Came west in time to ride with Quantrill and fight under Stand Watie in the Border Wars (never could stand much government, I guess).

In celebration, we'll be having that American dish corned beef and maybe some Irish colcannon.

Yeah, I know corned beef isn't really Irish. But it tastes so good, who cares?

Happy St. Paddys day all!

Got some Irish from County Cork somewhere in me...close enough?

If not I'll raise a glass of Jameson's tonight to you all. :)

I am a proud descendant of the McKenna(Mac Cionaoith) clan from County Tyrone, Ulster. My ancestor, Barney McKenna, immigrated to New Orleans during the Famine where he became a businessman, married, and died in the yellow fever epidemic in the 1870's. His daughter Maggie McKenna was my great grandmother. I hope to visit the Emerald Isle before I pass on.

A wee Irish blessing to to all here on the forum: "May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night and the road downhill all the way to your door."

Chillin' on my diet beer- Bud Select. (of all the beers I drink Select has the lowest calorie to alcohol ratio. Get drunker and stay thinner :P)

Happy St. Patrick's day y'all.

"Guiness for strength, Jamison's for courage."
Grandpa was born in a little place in Sligo around 1880. I was entered into the register of foreign births in 2005. Rangerpat, welcome home.

Proud that my heritage is Dutch on my Mother's side and Irish (black) on my Dad's side. At least that's what we were told up until a few years ago.
Pops comes up to me and says "you know I'm adopted don't you?" And I responded "yes, so we've been told." He goes on in this quite tone and tells me the there was a mistake and that I'm half French and not Irish.
Well to say I was flabbergasted would be an understatement. I'd gone all those years quite comfortable as Dutch/Irish only to find out that I am not even a little bit Irish.

Now maybe there's a chance that I'll rule the world then!

Just make me King for 20 minutes - I'll give it right back.
