This type of comment is heard quite often from folks that apparently do not like Commemorative things
I think that the comment is both incomplete and unfair
Also there are obviously some folks that confuse the word Commemorative with the word Collectible, one has nothing to do with the other
I happen to like many Commemorative items. However I would never spend Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price when buying a commemorative.
But then I never spend MSRP on a new revolver either
All of that being said I probably own 2-3 dozen Commemorative firearms right at this moment, not a single one of which had the Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price paid by me. On some of these I was the original purchaser and on others I purchased them second hand
I would certainly understand if someone said "I would not buy this particular Commemorative at the asking price of $10,999"
Obviously there is some price at which a Commemorative is worth the money because with very few exceptions most all Commemoratives do get sold
I guess I just don't agree with blanket statements on just about anything
