Anyone see this movie. Good cast---used a lot of actual Carthage, Tx townfolk in the cast.
True story about a murder.
Funny is not loud enough.
It is the only murder trial I have ever heard about that The DA had the trial moved becasue he couldn't get a coviction of a confessed murderer in the town where the murder was committed.

I watched it on NetFlix a couple weeks ago. Funny and entertaining!
The locals commenting on the story were priceless; that's just how it happens in real life.

Just finished watching it on Netflix. Great movie! Very funny. Excellent acting, and the townspeople being themselves were terrific!

Since I am a product of this area, I can talk pretty honestly about it and the people.
The words, speach, actions and opinions you heard were as real as it gets---doubt if any of the action of those folks was scripted or choreographed.
Lordy---It was a time warp for me from the opening to the end.
The talk about San Augestine were tales I have heard all my life.
I got a particular laugh when the women were talking with a cig dangling from their fingers---Lord, I thought my mother was going to show up in a scene.

I'm on the way into town one day and see a big ole sign that said "Welcome to Carthage". Still trying to figure out where I made such a gross error in navigation on such a short trip I passed the crew filming the movie in Bastrop. There were also a bunch of Bastrop folks in the movie including one of our judges.

I was in Sam's the other day an they had it. Remembering this thread, I decided to take a chance. Just watched and liked it. Kind of low key comedy, but well worth a look. :D

Some folks just need killin'.
