Best de-mooning tool

thanks for the replies. I just received 5 of these RIMZ gizmos from Brownells in the mail today - I am not impressed. they don't hold the rounds very tightly at all. I haven't yet thrown one across the room to see if it holds the rounds (or shot with them). As the previous poster stated, they would be OK for the range, I guess.

There are two different RIMZ models, the 625 and 25, one very loose and the other is adequately tight. You probably got the looser of the two which are perfect for the range but fall apart if you carry them loose in a bag or drop them. For carry and serious training or competition, I only use the metal moonclips.

Yea, me too (now).

I cut a 7" section out of a broken 1/2" I.D. aluminum pole spear and glued an old bicycle handle grip to the plane end. I put a 1/2" notch on the other end. As others have said, a quarter twist against the edge of the moon clip pops the round out of the clip and down into the hollow handle. All six rounds fit into the handle and can be transported and dumped into anything. Total cost: $0.00 for parts and 15 minutes of my time. I gave away all of my factory demooning tools because I feel that my home made tool works best.

I just use a flush cut 5/8's copper tube.
