If they have a very limited supply, that they know well sell out quickly, just for spits & giggles, Palmetto should run something like a raffle.
Say, give everyone 48 hours to respond to their ad, and then pick X number of people from those respondents, and they get to buy one of the pistols at the killer price.
At least this way, folks that live with their noses buried in their computer screens won't have a leg-up on folks that don't/can't.
I'm just thinking this might be a nice variation on the old "first come/first serve" angle.

Just as a follow-up Academy's weekly flyer has the SD VE advertised at $299.99. The details didn't mention if this was the Academy exclusive all black unit or the regular, but the illustration looked like the regular.
