Hello,

Post a pic of the best-looking S&W Auto, in your opinion.

Here's mine: the 639.

There's something about the 639 that is just "right" to me.

What's your choice?

Best,

Heekma

Nothing particularly special about these but I like 'em! Nice 639...one would look right at home in my safe.:)

I vote for the Model 52

I couldn't agree more. The 639 is my personal favorite-but part of the appeal is the ease and relatively low-cost 9mm ammo. The 52 gives the 1911 a serious run for the money in the looks department, but the .38 semi-wadcutter ammo is a little too specialized for me.

The 52 is still a damned handsome firearm, standing shoulder to shoulder with the 1911, the Browning High Power and the Sig P210.

Rareified air indeed.

Best,

Heekma

I'll take the 52 over any 1911! Once you get your hand loads perfected can't match the out of the box accuracy, not to mention they are just flat out fun to shoot. I like them so much....gotta have 2, the shooter and the safe queen:)

I was going to say the 39, but the 52 works for me as well since it's essentially a long-slide 39 (in a different caliber, of course). You guys have already posted great pictures of both of those fine guns.

I don't personally care for the squared off trigger guard on the 639, but personal preference is just that. Personal. I also prefer the curved backstrap of the 39 and its descendants over the straight one on the 59 or the 1911 series. To me it looks more elegant that way. Again, just personal preference.
