Where would i get the price on golden sabers - online or gun show? Is it a round that sellers would even have at a gun show? Midway has 'em for about 25 bucks a box - shipping ends up being 13 bucks or so.

I don't go to shows but between LGS and Online..I choose Online if looking to buy in bulk. If you only need one box I doubt it matters. Good luck that ship may have sailed. Although I did order 1400rds from Target Sports....3-4 weeks to get but the order is in and confirmed. Looks like they may be one of the few places left with some full cases at normal prices. Good luck

Have you tried calling any of your local gunshops? My personal experience (did gunshows and worked for a local store) was that few gunshow vendors carry any selection of defense loads. Most carry ball ammo and defense loads will be whatever their distributors had on special.

If you want to buy in quantity shop online but if you just want a box or two it might be worth calling locally (if you have some small shops in your area). Avoid the big box stores like gander, dick's etc, as they are usually far higher priced than you could get it online w/shipping from what I've seen.

Shop around Wally World use to be cheap but don't have much now. Online is where I buy bulk but remember to add shipping to final cost, (I wait till the heve free shipping) If you need one or two boxes buy any place difference in price would not amount to much. Gun shows from what I hear now, I haven't been to on in a couple months, are starting the gouge effect.... Don't know where you live so can't give info on local buys you can also try Slickguns | Best deals on guns and ammo posted by users and gun-deals.com - User-Submitted Gun & Ammunition Deals for ammo prices.

It's case-by-case depending on what you're looking to buy and how much of it -- I haven't found one form of buying, online or locally, consistently trumps the other.

Obviously one box of (fill in the blank) bought online for, say, $20 probably isn't worth the shipping cost unless it is a required round and impossible to find locally.

Ten, twenty boxes, more -- then shipping starts to be less of a concern in relation to total cost of the ammo.

I like to figure out what I want, search around online to get a sense of who's charging what, as well as call local stores and visit shows, and buy based on that.

On the other hand, in the current buying climate if you really need something and it's difficult to find, buy it when you see it, I suppose.

What round of Golden Sabers are you looking for?

Midway,Natchez etc. can ship two 500 round boxs of lead .38 bullets for the same price of just 500. If you can go that many.

Gas,show tickets vs shipping cost is about a tie.............
but most internet have a better selection or you can try another site,at least.

Never buy ammunition from a gun show. Most of the kabooms I've ever heard of have come from gunshow ammo or powder.

Think about it. You will never see the vendor again and you have no guarantee what he sells is factory.

I was a fan of Golden Sabers a few years back..They are really overpriced in my opinion..I have since switched to Winchester SXT ammo..You might want to give it a try..
On topic, some of the ammo that I ran into years back ( I no longer go to GS's ) had been pulled off the shelves of stores, because of recalls by mfgr's..If buying GS ammo, I would check the lot number with the mfgr to see if there was an issue...

I went to a local gun show here in NC a week or so ago and the only brand of .223 they had was on sale for $1200 per case... No seriously... I didnt check to see what kind it was. Once I saw the sale sign, I threw up in my mouth and continued walking on...

just went to my LGS for a 9mm shield and/or a SD9VE, they said be prepared to wait for at least 1 year! do you have 9mm ammo, NO! I said that the local gun show had cases of ammo,
yeah but they are RELOADS!!!!

Not all gun show ammo sellers are "Bad". I have a very good friend that is attending the Greensboro, NC show tomorrow that will be selling Independence 5.56 for roughly .60-.70 per round. No shipping costs, no tax, no wait. Just pay and go. 30k+ rounds so it will last at least the day. Come on out if you're in the area!
