To answer the OP's question, I use Zeta 6 J-Clips when carrying my J. That said, if you have to reload, it's no longer self-defense/personal protection, it's a fire fight. If that's the case, you're in deep excrement, no matter what you're packing.

Best way to carry more EDC ammo, is to carry it in the gun. So ditch the revolver, and get something like a G19 or M&P9c.

My G19 carries three times the load that the j frame has. Thugs nowadays tend to travel in packs, and there's always the possibility of an active shooter.

Your little revolver will run dry in seconds, and while you're fumbling with a "speed" loader or "speed" straps, you'll get killed.

Whereas my G19 will be laying down a steady stream of fire, with 17 more in the spare mag.

It's 2021. Let's arm ourselves for the times.

When I carry reloads, it is usually HKS speedloaders or moon clips in my strong side front pants pocket.

Zeta 6's work better for me than regular speed loaders. I've got Pachmyr grips on my Model 49 that get in the way of standard issue speed loaders. It takes a little practice to use the Zetas, but it's a short learning curve. Easier to carry/conceal too.

When the night fisherman was killed near boston thirty years ago.. When I was night fishing here I carried the 1911/45 acp loaded with 9 rounds, 2 extra mags on me 5 mags in my tackle box. A box of 50 in the glovebox. You never know about copycats.

Unfortunately, there is no longer a place in the country where you only will need five rounds. Some scumbag from a bad area in another state can be driving through your burg and decide he needs more spending money.
