I have a Don Hume H721 holster for my Glock 21. The holster is leaving a small "blemish" on the slide near the barrel. It seems to happen even if the gun is in the holster for only a few hours. It's not a scratch because I can use some Hoppes on a patch & it comes right off. The interior of the holster is a little rough, but I wouldn't have thought it would cause this to happen. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to smooth/soften the interior to keep this from happening?
Thanks for your help. I really like the holster except for this problem.

Howdy 686fan, I can't tell from the picture on a site, whether the holster is a closed or open bottom. But you might try burnishing the rough spots with the back of a plastic spoon. YMMV.

Pretty much any gun carried on a regular basis is going to develop wear marks from holsters. If this is going to be your daily carry gun, it WILL show wear sooner or later but as the holster wears in and smooths out, the marks from friction should diminish somewhat. If this is a carry gun I would not sweat the minor wear marks - you should look at it as a tool and not as a "collectible".

I am a VERY BIG fusspot and I am very particular as far as condition and originality goes when it comes to firearms. That said, my long carried CCW has marks on the barrel, cylinder, frame, and is far from pristine anymore. Mechanically and functionally it is 100% and for a 20+ year old gun it still looks good, but again...... far from pristine. Just the nature of the beast.
