Blind Identification Database System for firearm purchases - came across this and thought it interesting. This is sort of a "No Buy" listing or database for use by your FFL vice calling the NICS in Clarksburg WV when your home state requires the NICS check. This BIDS will use the same 18 USC, Art 922 criteria used by NICS. I checked the forums archives here but couldn't find anything. Anybody heard of this? Any thoughts?

I'm a newbe here, so hopefully I'm in the right place. :)

Wile I'm not an attorney nor a gun dealer, I can't really see where this system would be feasible. Too much work to get it up and running, too much work to keep it current and what makes it worse, no way for the anti-gun crowd to pervert it. They won't support it.

What's (a)Blind Identification Database System, (b)an FFL vice?

From what little I've read it's the equivalent of a no-fly list.

Instead of checking your background, a no-gun list is checked. If you ain't on it you're good to go.

The idea is to keep the government out of the loop and knowing who is buying guns.
