Big Horm Armory free reloading manual

I just got an email which offers a link to their new, free, reloading manual.
Since they make only carbines for the 460, 475, and 500 magnum handgun rounds, that's what's in the manual.
There are quite a lot of loads as well as bullets to stay away from in tubular magazines.
There are also a large range of powders tested so anyone shooting these cartridges should check this out.

There are loads for the 475 Linebaugh, 454 Casull, 460 S&W, 500 Linebaugh, 500 Automax, and 500 S&W.
Interesting read.
I am still trying to get them to offer their carbine in 445.
I'd somehow come up with the scratch if they did.
It's the perfect platform for the 1.6" handgun rounds.

I am glad that link is working for ya'll as they are sometimes tailored for one reply from one user (all that gook at the end of the URL).
No idea why they can't just put it on the download section of their web site.
It would be easier for them to track who is getting the guide that way.

I find that the reloading data is flawed.

I reload for the 454 Casull, and used in a 6" Freedom Arms pistol.

Sierra bullets reloading manual states that the the.4515 240 grain bullet can not be loaded past 1500 fps, if you do than you will have jacket separation witch will logged in the barrel.

The Sierra 300 grain .4515 bullets are good to go, and I used them with W296. Big Horn reloading manual has no data on this bullet.

I also load Hornady 240 XTP MAG with H110 crono out of my pistol 6" pistol at 2019 fps.

The Big Horn manual is flawed my fps out of my 6" barrel is about the same as the maximum load out of the 18" barrel.

on that topic Can I assume your claim for the 240 XTP MAG of 2019 fps is also from a 454 Casull, if so you are way over pressure or your chrono is suspect - that is about max for the 460 S&W in that barrel length

They do need to add MAG after their XTP as XTP and XTP MAG are very different bullets in the 300 grain size for .452 and .452

Yes I did load the Casull with 240 Hornady xtp mag with 36.0 grains of H110. There was no signs of over pressure. 36.0 is the max load from Hornady 9 reloading manual. Freedom Arms reloading manual starts at 36.0 grains and ends at 39.0 grains.

I did blow my sand bag apart with the gas and cylinder gap.

I also crono Hornday XTP MAX 240 grain factory loaded ammo over the same crono at 1934 fps that is par with the speed info that was on the box. When Freedom Arms produce there ammo they used 36.0 grains of H110 and a 240 grain bullet.

Is the crono accurate? I do not know. I need to find a different crono to compare.
