Big win in DC

While I certainly agree with the appellate judge as a layman and based "on principle," I'm not sure what to think about where this might take us - the beginning of an all-out war on the Second Amendment? It would seem this one will be tough to swallow for the other side.

It's a nice decision, but no doubt it will be appealed to the Circuit court for the District of Columbia. Where it will likely be overturned. Which might set up an appeal to SCOTUS.

As with Heller, it's a start, but there is still a road to travel.

DC vs Heller was a HUGE victory for gun owners. It has been cited and decided in favor of gun owners on other cases around the country too.

Recently the Supreme Court unanimously agreed in Caetano v. Massachusetts that the 2nd Amendment applies to all instruments that constitute bearable arms even those not in existence at the time of the founding. This was in regards to Massachusetts' ban on stun guns.

Granted this upcoming election will be huge, but that being said, I think at this point the Supreme Court will have to agree that "assault weapons" are legal and all states will have to become "shall issue".

There is all ready enough case law to support these claims. The Supreme Court just has to connect all the dots and make a quick, swift ruling to confirm this.

Well said. Nothing is ever simple, nothing is ever finished; everything remains in flux from one case to the next case.

Those who would disarm us will never rest, so we can never rest. There will be no end to the argument, or the battle to defend individual liberties. There will always be another attack to defend against.

We must remain ready to defend liberty against any attempt at tyranny.

With the loss of Justice Scalia, there may be issues if it ends up in SCOTUS.
