I was at a gun show today and a guy had Blazer aluminum-cased 158gr JHP .357 at $16/box, so I bought what he had left, 8 boxes. Do any of you have recent experience with Blazer ammo? Back in the '80s, I used to shoot their 9mm ball and JHPs through my Glock, no problems, pretty clean as I recall. How is it now?

I last shot some a few years ago. They worked well but, were a little less than full power.
I reload now so I no longer buy factory ammo.
Good price.

I have been shooting both aluminum case and brass case blazer 357 lately, and they are good loads. The brass is a little hotter.
The aluminum is a low end 357 load, and might even make a good SD round.
Both are accurate in my Model 19-4 2.5".

Thanks, makes me feel better that I didn't throw away my money. If it hadn't been a show, I'd just have bought a couple of boxes to try.

If it seems to work well at the range, I'll try to buy more at that price or a little higher. I don't reload, so the aluminum cases don't matter to me in that respect.

ma duce,
I have tested 19 of my 357 magnums for 25 yard accuracy with 6 different factory brands of 357 ammo ranging from 110 gr. thru 158 gr. I also use 125 gr. and 158 gr. reloads in my tests.
Blazer 158 gr. HP and Mag Tech 158 gr. FMJ are tied (8 out of 19) for highest number of guns that shoot a particular brand of ammo well.

I was given a few Aluminum Blazers to try, so I put 'em thru my Rossi Puma carbine and my M13. Every one I fired in the Puma blew its head off and had to removed with a cleaning rod & bore brush. They worked OK in the M13, but I haven't fired another one since.
