Right at the end Tom Selleck nailed the "Bad Guy" with what appeared to be a Fitz Dectective Special. Correct me if I'am wrong. Also, does anyone know if the series is continuing as there were no prevues tonight for next week.

I'm thinking that next Friday may be no episode due to Holiday programming. And yes, the gun is a Fitz Special, as was mentioned when the guy who plays Tom Selleck's dad commented on it in the first episode. I love the show, much better than any CSI show with it's myriad of stuff no department can afford.

So far I have watched about half the episodes and my opinion is that I do not think this is Selleck's best effort. I think he was much better in the Jessie Stone series of TV movies. To me, I just can't get in to his role as NYC's Top Cop! I won't say it's bad, but definitely not going to be another Hill Street Blues!

You "Knew" that either Dad or his son was gonna nail the bad guy.

Sorry, but that was a very risky shot. A head shot with a J frame while they guy was holding your daughter with a knife at her throat??
Sure I guess it can be done but that's a pretty hard shot under extreme stress.

Maybe, maybe not. I practice that very shot at our department range with my Glock 23 and my S&W 442 at least once a month. At that range it's easier than shooting small game . . . just a lot more at risk.

Faulkner is right on, the shot in itself is not hard for anyone who practices. What might/would make it more difficult would be the tension. However, I've known and for that matter still do know men who I swear to God have Icewater in their veins and would not flinch or hesitate{and have} in making and taking that kind of shot.

I could probably make the shot with the Glock or similar weapon, not sure of the J frame. Put one of your loved ones up there with a lunatic and practice that. Guess you never know until it comes up.

Good show though, I also like that other new one Detroit 187.
