Has anyone had a S&W reblued by George Roghaar of Boca Raton, FL? Can you post a picture? How satisfied were you with his work and turnaround time? I am looking for an alternative to Ford's since word is they've slipped both in the quality of their work and customer service as regards communications and turnaround time. One of our esteemed S&W restoration experts has discontinued using Ford's due to this decline, so I am hesitant to send them my gun and am seeking another source for quality S&W bluing.

I had a 1917 Colt done by George. It was in poor shape and he made it look great. Took out all of the pitting and was able to keep the stampings which on the Wartime Colts weren't too deep to begin with. The blue on the gun was more of a Blue/Black but that was what I wanted. I have not seen his work on a S&W.

George is very user friendly. Contact him and I'm sure he will tell you if the job can be done by him.

I have used George on several S&Ws in the past few years...He just did a Python in nickel for me.I have always been VERY pleased with his work and communication.I don't have any pictures loaded but you'll be pleased I'm sure.

Last month George returned to me a High Polish Hot Re-Blue job for a 6 inch S&W M29-2 that is superb!

This particular M29 had been to S&W for a High-Polish Re-Blue job, and it was returned, well, just off...a weird look to it. It was nothing like the fantastic job S&W had done for another of my N-Frames.

This was about the time S&W's customer satisfaction on refinish work was either "as good as it gets"...or "total crap". And some redo jobs were reported coming back from S&W even worse than the first attempt.

George's quality and workmanship had impressed me on some piece-work he had done for me, his reputation here was great, so instead of fighting S&W over a re-do, I spent some mo-money on this gun, LOL, and had George do the entire gun! And it is sweeet!

If my kid brought my digital camera back from college, I'll post some pics.

If Ford's is truly starting to decline (I've only used S&W and George), then really great re-finish craftsmen like George Roghaar are even harder to find, and worth the wait if necessary.

George called ME early one morning with an up-date on particulars of my gun!

Great communication.

George did my 1938 Radom that was previously botched by another refinishing shop of world wide fame and he did a fantastic job on it.
I will be contacting him to do my Bodyguard after the holidays.

George did this Model 27-2 for me last year. Absolutely great job. Highly recommended!
