Seriously? $995.00? Wow, I hope it's worth it.

I've never heard of that brand honestly...

I just sent back my 327 pc snub that i paid $1100 for because it had a constant failure to fire, that gun certainly wasn't worth it and its a smith. Boberg's are getting rave reviews by their owners and in the same range as a rohrbaugh or a kimber solo. Just because it is too pricey for you isnt relevant to its performance or design. I guess I should edit my question to only feedback about its handling or reliability etc.. I have guns that cost over a grand each so im used to paying for a certain level of quality. If you are gagging on the price tag, then posting isnt to helpful.

Expensive choice. I've never touched one and don't have the desire to but from what I can see, it ain't worth $1000. Not when there are other great pockets guns for a lot less.

But it's your choice and your money. I couldn't find any bad reviews so who knows?

I'm not gagging abt the price tag, especially since I also spend more than 1k on handguns...

I was just curious about "what the buyer gets for this asking price" since I've never heard of this brand. Not more, not less.

Don't take it personal...

Boberg has managed to get added barrel length in the same size as other pocket 9s. This means greater velocity and more stability.

Fifty feet per second in gain might be all you need to guarantee that a hollow point will open. So this might be a worthwhile investment.

I'd hang onto the PPS though. It is a fine shooter and I wish I had never sold mine.

Keep in mind that a pistol that is comfortable in your pocket or on your hip is largely inaccessible while seated (especially in your car while belted in). A second pistol on your ankle solves that issue and I think two gun carry is well-advised. The PPS works well on the ankle and you can mentally score it as a "spare magazine" for your main pistol.

I'm not sure which model it was, but one of the gun mags recently reviewed a new Boberg 9, and it was good. As a matter of fact, I believe I remember them saying 'a tad pricey but worth it.' Hittin' the rack early to read, I'll see if I can find the issue.
EDIT- easier to find than I thought- 2012 Buyers Guide issue of POCKET PISTOLS.
XR9-S? 3.3 ' barrel, +P ok, DAO, 7+1 cap- MSRP was $949 in the mag. Trigger pull 5.5- draws cartridge from magazine backwards..? says that's based on a Browning machine-gun design, and it works.'trigger pull is smooth and buffer design absorbs nost recoil- plus low-bore axis for soft shooting gun.' 'Shorty puts full-sized barrel in easily concealable package, and delivers 25% more muzzle energy.'
That's all I see that might help.

I'm always happy to see someone try something new and innovative in the design of hand guns. I wish Arne Boberg good wishes and best of luck.

strips to the rear kinda like a belt feed ... interesting.
longer barrel in a shorter package .. also interesting.
its a 9MM which means all advantages over other 9's are lost by simply switching to a bigger caliber ... Khar makes 45's.
My bottom line ... I hope this one does well enough to fund development of big bore counterparts. In 40 or 45 that would be a nice little handful of solution

OK, quick update on this one. Got the pistol and it was a jamomatic. Sent it back in for repair and it came back still jamming with approved ammo. Full refund from Boberg and a offer to personally fix the gun from Arnie Boberg but i passed.

Thanks for your update and I'm sorry to hear this. All this time waiting for nothing. What's your plan now?

Nice to hear of the service and offer you got from the Boberg outfit, though. Thanks for the report and sorry that the experience was such a trial. I had something similar happen once, and know it's disappointing.

Sad to say but this echos what I've heard from a few others. The good side, hopefully, is that they'll work out the bugs and put out some working products.

Glad to see some folks continuing to produce new stuff!!

Either their website dislikes my security settings or they are gone. All I get is a white screen when I try to look at it.

I reviewed the site highlighted. Interesting design. At 75 the last thing I need is any pistol that has a feed problem no matter how neat it looks,,I think that I have developed a limp wrist problem over the years with short grip small pistols...Sadly at 75 not the only limp problems.

Boberg 9mm

I, too, was keenly interested in the Boberg, but after poring over every possible review I could find I came to the conclusion that the gun was a bit too finicky to trust and therefore not a reasonable consideration for parting with the cash from my wallet.

Seems a number of users had issues with ammo, and, like other reviews of certain Kahr pistols, found it too frustrating to justify purchase. Ironically, I own a Kahr, and thankfully (so far) have not had problems with it to date.

The rearward pull of the ejector 'tongs' of the Boberg requires a compatible bullet casing shape that will expedite the action.

I read the whole advertisement attached to previous post....Seems a lot of ammo is not compatible in this pistol..This info was in their publication. Not exactly what you want to see. Looks well made however the worth of any pistol is "Will it fire, eject, and chamber with out a hitch" Seems they even admit to some problems with an awful lot of commercially available ammo...Considering the past scarcity of 9mm ammo having a pistol that by nature is finicky might not be a good idea for a self defense carry pistol....Looks and manufacturing quality only goes so far,,,,,Will it shoot every time???

As Far as shooting the Boberg goes, its a fantastic design. Very light recoil and extremely accurate. I feel this is a new design that once all the kinks are worked out every manufacture will have a model in this configuration. I really think its that good. Ammo makers would start making ammo with a heaver crimp if more pistols utilized this design but for now none are really made to deal with this new feeding method. Honestly, if Arnie Boberg were to be bought out by Smith&Wesson or Ruger we would see a full line of pistols in this configuration and the price would be cut in half. After firing one im very curios how a full size double stack pistol would perform in this configuration.

However, the first run is going to have some issues. Hats off to Arnie Boberg for the innovation, craftsmanship and customer service.

After returning the Boberg i Purchased a Rorhbaugh R9 and owned that for about a year before i realized the pocket 9mm isnt a workable concept for me personally. 380 seem to be the right size with the Secamp and the Ruger LCP bieng stand out designs. J frame is just to bulky for my pockets.
