I have (2) Bodyguard 2.0's. Love everything about the Bodyguard 2.0 except the mag release. It protrudes too far, and I have had 3 occasions where the mag was released by accident. And it is not even my main carry gun. I just use it for mesh shorts or a windbreaker. If it was my main carry gun who knows how many times the mag would pop out by accident. I don't use a holster, it is pocket carried.

Have any of you modded the release button to shorten it? It would be nice if S&W made a shorter replacement release for the 2.0.

I can't even imagine carrying a pistol, especially in a pocket that's not in a holster with a trigger guard that's not fully covered. It's taking a heck of a chance, not only for you, but those around you. My Bodyguard 2.0 came with a less than 4lb trigger pull and it's a very real risk to carry unholstered.

LEOs are often trained to spot folks who waistband carry w/o a holster; these types are typically up to no good.

In your case, I'd be concerned about the trigger catching on some material and the gun going off.

Please don't do that - for your safety and others - and find a holster you can tolerate?

No issues pocket carrying or IWB carrying the BG2.0 with the mag release. In both instances I use a proper holster which doesn't cover the mag release in at least one instance.

I use a Desantis Nemesis for pocket and Vedder Tuck holster respectively. I'd recommend either of them.

Here's mine. It's a Tulster from the Profile series. I chose the blue carbon style. Fits like a glove. Note: I swapped out the plastic belt retainer for this metal one.

Tulster's a good brand too! Vedder had a special and I like their clip better than the metal one you have there. I've used both and found the Vedder one is secure, easier to use and I can tuck the holster. Tucking the BG2.0 behind a dress shirt in the Vedder holster is super easy.

?

So called 'Mexican carry', so the gun can be ditched without leaving an incriminating holster behind.
While I prefer Kydex, I was having trouble drawing from an Alabama, so I've been using a DeSantis. It doesn't cover the mag release, but I've never had a mag pop loose. Mag release requires a very deliberate push.

Wow…. I can’t imagine my loaded BG2 inside one of my pockets without being in a holster!

The Muddy River Tactical kydex is perfect for me. It covers the mag release, which is a perfect size and perfectly placed for my thumb release. It is the best mag release design of any handguns I have.

I agree an optional mag release that does not stick out as far would be great. I filed mine down on my LCP Max

Folks!
I read nowhere in this thread where the original poster mentioned carrying full mag+1 while pocket carrying. If he doesn't then what's wrong with carrying without one?
Sure... it'll take longer to rack the slide and respond in an adrenalized pumping, potential life changing situation. Sure... it'll collect more debris and possibly cause potential malfunctions. Sure... the magazine will fall out AGAIN, most likely rendering him unable to rack a round at all. But hey... let's not let empirical data help us do better.
You folks need to knock it off. (Sarcasm Mine)

Well, considering that the original poster hasn't been on this board since May 5th, I'm guessing that he/she/it wasn't feeling too welcome to begin with, and is no longer interested in what we have to say anyway.

Images taken from the web. Holster-less carry is not an accident waiting to happen, with the right equipment. Having said that if I was to carry a safety less, recycled Tupperware, striker fired, ugly as homemade sin, bottom feeder that would another kettle of fish. ;)

His stats kinda support your summation.

You know the old saying: "My mind is made up so don't confuse me with the facts".

I was carrying mine in a Desantis pocket holster which covers the trigger and the mag release, but being a soft holster I did find the mag had been released once. Not good, looking for a former holster.
