All I can say is wow.....the hype is all that and then some. Meaning this has to be one if not the most comfortable IWB holsters I have ever owned. I also have an Old Faithful for my Shield that is not as nice to wear as the CB...even with the chunkier 9c. I bought the one for the FS M&P as I like the extra slide coverage

One of the LGS in my area began to stock Crossbreeds.....nice to see so many. 67 bucks which I think is a few bucks less than the CB website

Bought it and promptly got kitted up with it and went for a 6 mile walk with my wife. No issues at all even with it against my bare skin. Gun was hidden pretty well with just a t shirt. I'm avg size at 5'11 195 lbs

If you are trying to decide on an IWB give the CB a serious look. Absolutely awesome. I might go back tomorrow and get one for my XDm compact .45 and maybe replace the Old Faithful for my Shield

Excellent Choice! Love my Crossbreeds and my M&P compacts...they do just disappear in those holsters and are extremely comfortable.

What would you say makes the Crossbreed more comfortable than the Old Faithful? They look so similar, but there has to be some physical differences that make it wear better. If you don't mind, could you share your opinion on why it works better for you? Which physical features make it more comfortable? It would help people like me that have only had a chance to visually compare them. Thanks.

I'm not sure what makes it more comfortable. .....it just is. Maybe more leather coverage? The leather on the CB seemed to conform to my hip a bit better than the OF as well

I wish I had a better explanation...
The clips are a lot nicer on the CB as well....they are a smidge wider...the CB did not move at all

Got a horsehide CBST for my 9c, and a cowhide CBST for my new Shield 9.

Both are great, and very comfortable. The horsehide is combat cut and the cowhide is normal. I will say that the cowhide is much smoother on the skin and without the combat cut it is much more comfortable. All in all, I thought the horsehide holster was great with the 9c, but after wearing the cowhide non combat cut with the shield... all I can say is wow.

I've been a fan for years and I own a few different versions for different guns.

I found a small crack in the kydex of one of my older, highly used holsters and after a phone call and returning it I had a replacement within a week. Good CS.

Mac- good feedback on the horse hide .....I was thinking of ordering one on that before I found them in a LGS. I bought a XD -9SC today and will stick with cowhide for this one as well

Yah, I can see the horsehide for someone that may be sweating profusely the majority of their time carrying, or for someone that lives somewhere very hot year round, the added moisture resistance of the horse hide would be nice. For me, living in MA, it's just not really needed.

I was lucky and stumbled onto Crossbreed's early. Have one for every handgun I own, only holster that I can say that about.

If your a NRA member you get discount also at checkout, have to look for it to find it. Might save you a few bucks if your on the fence about ordering one.

Alot of folks dont know about their return policies or the second hand holsters for resale.
Crossbreed Holsters - Second Hand Holsters
Not to wild about the cash/check policy for second hand holsters, but I can understand from a business point of view. Now these are slightly used holsters returned for whatever reason, NOT new. But with prices from $20-$55 to find out if you might like it or purchase a second one, you really cant go wrong.IMHO

I dont have a horse in this race just like Crossbreed and their work ethic's. YMMV

Thought this might help. Carry safe...

I first got one for a G26 and found, when broken in was not only comfortable, but also very conceable. I recently switched to a 9c and ordered a new ST from CB. I ordered the treated cow hide and combat cut. It's still breaking in as I've only had it a week, but I like it even better than the first. I do not worry about printing.

Do any of you people have thumb safeties and if so do you think there would be a problem holstering and it rubbing into off

Shield with thumb safety stays where it's put when drawing and reholsterimg

rcp1936- The safety on my 1911 leaves a slight gouge in the sweat guard. Have never had it release or the deactivate the safety on me. Also run a M&P 4.25" and that safety has always stayed engaged while in the holster.

MCM-Have not tried the quick clip version. I prefer to have two clips for better weight distribution. The Supertuck works best for my uses.

I have been a Crossbreed fan for years....carry my M&P9c in one. When I bought my M&P45 Compact I ordered a CBST for as well. When it arrived it was identical to my 9c holster and the barrel of the 45 went past the end of the leather about 1/2 inch and rubbed on my leg. I should have sent it back, but I didn't.

When I bought a Crimson Trace Rail master for my 45c I went looking for a new holster. Someone on this Forum mentioned White Hat holsters. It looks identical to the CB, but the important difference is that the leather covers the end of the barrel AND it was made to accommodate the Rail Master Laser. Frankly it is a lot more comfortable than my CB, plus for a little over 20 bucks I can order a Kydex that will fit on the leather backing to carry my S&W 642 revolver.

I am still pleased with the CB for my 9c, but the extra features of the White Hat make it perfect for my 45c.

Best IWB Holsters - custom, concealed carry IWB Holsters.

Solid Color Replacement Kydex

I love mine as well and agree with the OP review. It's one of the most comfortable IWB holster's I've ever worn. If you can afford the extra for horsehide leather it is well worth it.

I wasn't aware that they were now being sold in gun shops. Bought mine a few years ago from seeing an ad in American Rifleman and had to order it online. This was back when the owner, Mark Craighead was still around. He passed away in 2012... My only complaint is that they only offer the holster for specific models. No options for say a 2 or 3 inch K frame, a snub Security Six, or 3 inch 686 (all guns I like to carry.) But if they ever decide to make them I'll be first in line.

Combat Cut?

I've been a fan of the CB SuperTuck Deluxe for years. This holster eliminates the excuses for not carrying a concealed handgun every day. Many of us, over the years, have collected a box full of concealed carry holsters. With the CB, those days are over.

I've used the standard cut, but am now considering the combat cut where some of the leather is cut away leaving a thinner piece covering the slide. During my training/practice sessions, my draw is probably somewhat slowed by the extra leather of the standard cut -- I have to squeeeze my thumb between the leather and pistol grip.

Anybody have experience with the combat cut? Does the smaller amount of leather that covers the rear of the slide shift after awhile (so that the slide touches the body)?

Anybody have both the standard cut and the combat cut? ...which do you prefer?

I ordered both of my cbst's without combat cut. My 9c's I ended up doing my own cut on, it helped a lot in getting a good grip on the draw, but took away from the comfort level due to the gun to skin contact instead of the leather acting as a barrier.

My newest cbst is for my shield and I'm going to leave it as is without the combat cut. It's that much more comfortable to me without the cut, and I can draw fine with it.

I'd reccomend taking a cbst for a gun you don't carry often, and testing the combat cut on it. There's really only one way to find out what you prefer.

And no, the portion of leather left from my combat cut hasn't moved or lost structural integrity whatsoever.
