I made an offer on this 22 at the Billings show but it was turned down. On Sunday I got a call from a friend asking if I still wanted it for my offer...Course I took the deal. Picked it up from my friend today. Need to clean it up a bit and will take a Pic or two. I do need to get an idea when it shipped Tag said pre 1950 Hoping 1947(birth year)...Condition is a bit better than shooter grade..about 90% blue. It''s been shot and some blue wear both sides of the bbl ends evidently from a holster. Gun is pretty tight and seems to be taken care of. Take some pics tomorrow and post 'em. Serial is K560XX. Walnut Magna stocks look original. I'll pull them off tomorrow and check for serial in the grip. Wondering if I can get an idea of ship date? rough value would be great but pics can help with that...but I think I did very well. I've got to try it out tomorrow. I also bought. an as new Armalite AR-10 today. Duh! Doesn't look to have ever been shot. I recently bought a number of boxes of Lapua 308/7.62 x 51 match ammo. .

Well close enough for gummit work on ship date. Thanks bdGreen. as far as value I paid significantly less than your evaluation. We'll see how she shoots tomorrow. I also have a pre 18 shipped about 1953 or so. It is a good shooter too. In better condition than the K-22. Has 2 chambers in the cylinder that are a bit tight. gonna have to polish them a little. Still shoots well. The k-22 seems to have a little better trigger I've been working on cleaning up a 5 inch 27-2 I recently got in an online auction. Got most of the corrosion and rust spots cleaned off. Got to put a set of stocks on it but magna or target? But a 285 dollar 27-2 is gonna be a fun one to shoot. Only thing I want to find now is a nice 22 semiauto rifle...not a 10-22

bdGreen is correct. Here are a couple of nearby numbers and ship dates:
K56225 K-22 Masterpiece, November, 1948
K57760 K-22 Masterpiece, December, 1948

Got to put a set of stocks on it but magna or target?
In 1948, it would have shipped with Magna stocks. Targets were not yet available. Magna stocks in 1948 would have the sharp shoulder.

Congratulations on a nice find. My K-22 Masterpiece is also 1948 (s/n K40403). It has some honest wear, but is excellent mechanically and an accurate shooter. I think that the trigger was worked on at some point because it's really a "hair trigger". Looking forward to some pics. Enjoy!

H&K 270

Never seen an H&K 270. What I was hoping to find is a nice Win M-63 with grooved receiver for a scope. I had a Taurus copy and sold it to a friend. He really likes it. Seems I've sold him guns I shoulda kept. I sold him a Rem 8 in 35 Rem a Rem 14 pump in 35...a Win 07 351 SLR a Win 1910 401 SLR a nice 1897 a really nice Rem 11 trench gun. Shot a deer with the 401. This morning he told me to look for a 14 1/2 Rem in a pistol round. He even wants my Browning BL 22 Lever. If I have to I will buy a Remington 552 BDL 22. Semi auto 22s are hard to find...nice ones anyway. I have a couple or 3 nice Bolt 22s.. DCM 513Ts , a model 52 Sporter and a custom shop Rem Model 5

On which stocks to put on I was referring to the 27-2. When I got it had nothing but a set of goodyears included in the boxhttps://1drv.ms/i/s!Aiec64bhjo4l3QcnG7ZHi3yhFgR0?e=pMyoZJ

Pic attached is the 5 inch 27-2 I got recently. Needs a bit more cleaaning etc before I'll be done. Hopefully it will post. Don't even know how I got it here...the price was right for a shooter

I had another K-22...same vintage as my 22 CM 1953....a fellow named Von Ringler...a good holster maker from Cody gave me a *** story about the one he had back in the day...and talked me out of it...So I sold it to him....and 15 minutes later looked in the mirror and asked what was wrong with me Knew I could find another...Taken me 1 1/2 years to find an affordable one. I got to run a few rounds through it today...shoots better than me...nice trigger...smooth on DA. Going to try to figure how I got that other picture on and post one or two on the K-22.

Rotated the image so the photo will be right side up and resized.

Thanks for flipping it. As I said don't know how I got it to post. It's not the site and IF I can get the pic on the computer I can post. It's just pictures don't go into folders like they used to. Going to try again on the K-22
