Bought a K-22

Some old antler magnas and a black t grip would look good

I agree. I have the original grips, but the stags just add that 'certain something'. Here's one from 1947. It has seen some range time, but as a testament to good craftmanship and reasonable care it has held up and maintained a good appearance.

I have K22 K32xx. Research, without a letter request, said 1947. A lot of serial number increases in those years, maybe.

I think they cranked out about 18,000 of them in 1947. I could be wrong, but I looked into that when I got mine and that was the conventional wisdom at the time (a while back).
Mine is in the SN 14K range from '47.

Love my K-22. That's a beauty. Can't seem to get imugr to work now posting pictures to the BBS.

Got a K22 in high school, 1959. Went off ranching at 18. Line camp, lots of jackrabbits to feed the cats. The beautiful shooter of the same age I have now: imagine the old memories of years ago.. I'll study the numbers and report if they seem of interest. I'm real new and having a clutch of a time navigating the Forum. but need to post a a certain number before I can sell my 60 year ephemora collection ( I understand )
