I recently picked up a 1983 vintage S&W Model 469 after not having/carrying a serious semiauto pistol in about 20 years. My dilemma was I didn't have any holsters. Since I needed something right away, I ran down to the local Academy Sports and Outdoors to the holster aisle. Guess what? That's right, absolutely no holsters meant for a 2nd/3rd Gen S&W. I knew the SG-21 Fobus standard would work, but...Fobus. I found this at a price that wouldn't hurt me and picked it up. It is working remarkably well and is the "Compact" size. They also had the "Full Size" for the same price.

I holster the 469 with the safety on then take it off safe. (I'm afraid all those years of carrying revolvers has permanently affected me.) I put the gun back on safe when administratively unholstering.

Update: I sent an email to Phalanx Defense Systems telling them how happy I was with the holster I bought. I received a response from James Coats, their CEO, thanking me and asking for shirt size and my address. Several days later I received a package containing a sack-type backpack, a t-shirt, and a water bottle, all with their logos.

It isn't as bad as it seems. It's a suspenders clip and is actually smooth on the outside. The suspenders are clipped to the belt to keep it from putting pressure on a nerve in my hip. There are suspenders that hook under the belt, but I haven't ordered them yet since I don't know if this is going to be an ongoing issue.

I do the same with the safety on a Beretta 92. It's there...so may as well use it.

Good on ya. I just purchased my first all polymer (Kydex) holster myself...though for a light bearing H&K.

Very nice. Does it hold your 469 close enough to the body to use this holster as an OWB concealed carry option? I'm always looking for more cc holster options for my 3rd gens and I much prefer OWB.

Yes, it does! It is curved to fit your body and pulls in tight. You need a 1.5 inch belt to fit the loops.

I had some Fobus holsters and wasn't happy. My last issued duty holster for a S&W Model 686-6 was a Safariland 6280 made of something hard. I usually wore a Gould & Goodrich "Cruiser" holster.

I bought one of these holsters and am happy with the purchase. It fits a variety of pistols including an M&P 2.0C and a 6904.

Validation! After all my years of leather for revolvers, it's nice to know that someone agrees with me on my recent foray back into the world of semiautomatics and plastic holsters! :D Don't tell anyone, but I'm looking at the M&P9 2.0 with the 5 inch barrel and ambidextrous safety in Flat Dark Earth. ;)
