Went to my gun shop this afternoon and there in the counter was my Holy Grail gun. It's a model 29-3, and I am a happy man!! It's my retirement gift to myself.Has a very faint turn line and is clean as it can be. When I take some pictures tomorrow to put in my inventory book I will post. Can't wait to shoot it! Thanks for letting me crow a little bit about my find. Larry

Congratulations to you on your find. It is always so satisfying to locate the sought-for item.

Hope you enjoy it and let us know more details of barrel length, grips, finish...And how it shoots, if you are to fire it.

Regards,

Dyson

Congratulations!

29-3 is a great gun.

Long live the N-frame!

Congratulations. Mine is Luger, nothing fancy, good shooter. But I believe the joy is in the quest.

It is a 6 inch barrel with the orginal walnut target grips, it has the target trigger as well as the hammer. I was so excited I didn't buy ammo (duh) so I will be shooting it next Tue. Thanks all! Larry

Congratulations Larry!

Obtaining one's Holy Grail gun must surely put a big grin on your face!

Congrads, that is a great gun. Now you only have one big problem. What to do with with the rest of your life? I had three Holy Grail guns, a S&W 3 inch M66, a S&W 696 no dash and a 5 inch Dan Wesson PM7. Found all of them within 2 years of each other. NOW WHAT DO I DO?? Actually I ain't that stressed out, I just enjoy shooting them

Congrats Larry

I guess in a way a 29-3 was my grail gun at one time, as it was my first new gun, and first 44 magnum. It took me 6 months +/- to pay for it as I was making about $60 a week then (I was 16/17), and 29's were still high due to the continuation of Dirty Harry movies. I paid wholesale $350.00 for it, and not more than a year later the price dropped $100.00

I am 43 now, and own several nice early 44's, but I still have my original. At times it has been the ONLY gun in my collection.

Slightly modified by me.

Larry, congratulations! It's a great thing when someone finally acquires something that has long been wanted. Good for you!

May all the other forum members be so fortunate in coming weeks as to find what they most desire.
