Calling all Cowboys and Ranchers. I have a holster with what may be a Ranch or Cattle brand on it. I was hoping you could identify it for me. It would be cool to find out where this holster had come from. I realize it is probably like finding a needle in a haystack. Anyway, here it is:

I'm not sure exactly how I would read that particular brand. It's reminiscent of what used to be called the old "buckle" brand....a circle with a horizontal line through it.

Of course, when you register your brand, you can call it anything you want.

The brand on the left is our family brand and we've always called it the "E bar C." I've heard some folks call it the "EC connected," and once even heard a guy read it as the "lazy T ¾ circle."

As I'm sure you realize, each state has its own brand registry, so we're looking at thousands upon thousands of possibilities in your case.

Perhaps someone else can chime in with a little more information on your particular brand. Good luck to you.:)

Maybe the 'Circle Crook'd Bar' mabee

That iron that was used to brand the back of the holster is a small equipment marking brand.

To small to be a livestock branding iron....

Ya'd have to have a spy glass to read it at any distance.

Livestock brands are most generally registered by state and county(s).
