BRAUER BROTHERS Mfg. of St. Louis, also known as MOOSE SPORTING GOODS, has been a family owned business since 1898; one of the oldest still family owned leather makers around. The Bull Moose logo, inspired by one of their most famous customers, hunter and statesman Teddy Roosevelt was adopted when he ran for reelection in 1912 under the Bull Moose party.
They once offered a full line of leather holsters, belts and accessories, including police items and even dog collars & leashes. They filled military contracts thru the major wars, and supplied Federal, State and Local police agencies thru the decades.
Their products were superior and innovative in many ways to the competitors in their class. Their "newer" basic holsters offered fully welted seams to prevent sticking and collapse of the holster around the gun. They also perfected designs, and even created and patented the wildly popular and oft copied SNAP LOOP Design way back in 1928.
As the company states, they don't forget that men's (and womens) lives depend on how they care for and carry their weapons.
Brauer is still in business today, however they no longer make leather goods, concentrating now on nylon and synthetic holsters and bags.
