I picked this up today and a quick scan of the inter-web hiway yields no results..

It's marked H-14. Way too small for a K-frame and my Off. Police is too big in the trigger guard but I think its for a 4"..
Anyone got a Brauer reference or old fit chart??

They've been closed for many years now. Not sure the reason but they made some very fine leather holsters and I've got more than just a few.

If you go to eBay and search for a seller called "usamike99" he generally has lots of their old stuff for sale and likely has the size chart you seek. I've bought a number of holsters and other gun related items from him and he's great to work with.

+1 for usamike99. For most of his eBay listings, whether grips or leather, he typically includes a brief history of whatever company the product he's selling is from.

From one of his past auctions:

BRAUER BROTHERS Mfg. of St. Louis, also known as MOOSE SPORTING GOODS, has been a family owned business since 1898; one of the oldest still family owned leather makers around. The Bull Moose logo, inspired by one of their most famous customers, hunter and statesman Teddy Roosevelt was adopted when he ran for reelection in 1912 under the Bull Moose party.

They once offered a full line of leather holsters, belts and accessories, including police items and even dog collars & leashes. They filled military contracts thru the major wars, and supplied Federal, State and Local police agencies thru the decades.

Their products were superior and innovative in many ways to the competitors in their class. Their "newer" basic holsters offered fully welted seams to prevent sticking and collapse of the holster around the gun. They also perfected designs, and even created and patented the wildly popular and oft copied SNAP LOOP Design way back in 1928.

As the company states, they don't forget that men's (and womens) lives depend on how they care for and carry their weapons.

Brauer is still in business today, however they no longer make leather goods, concentrating now on nylon and synthetic holsters and bags.

I have a Brauer "HOLSTER REFERENCE CHART" from the 1980s when I bought a K34 holster.

H-14 is not listed in the column for series H holsters. Maybe it was out of production by the 80s? Looked three times, using a magnifying glass. 14 does show up for series C, U, K, NS, E, J, W, for 4" S&Ws, Colt, Ruger, and H&R.

H-19 does show on the chart for S&W M&P (Mod. 10 HB), Mod. 10, and S&W Military Police Mod. 10, 12, and Harrington & Richardson Models 939, 926, 925, and High Standard Sentinel 9159-9160 and Sentinel 9187-9191.

thanks for the history lesson.

I have an IWB Brauer that was my father's. He carried his Colt Dect. Special in it for about 30 or so years. I sometimes wondered what type of holster it was, because the stamp is pretty much worn off. The one I got from my dad is pretty beat up, but it got daily usage for 30+ years. It certainly doesn't look like the ones in the pictures here, but it is a piece of family history, along with his gun and badge.

Thanks again for the history lesson.

Dennis

Don't know if it's helpful, but the other series 14 holsters were for S&W Regulation Police Mod. 33 & 31, 22/32 Kit Gun Mod. 33, 34, 43, 51, Colt Cobra, P.P.Special, Woodsman Sport .22, Huntsman .22 Challenger, Woodsman (Old Model), Ruger Bearcat, and H&R Mod. 922, 632, 732, 929, 622, 900.

Your holster is for a Colt Police Positve revolver in .38 Special.

Does your chart list a BB33? My mother picked one up at a garage sale and gave it to me. It doesn't fit a thing in my collection. What does it fit?
Thanks,
Mike

The chart I have does not list a series starting with BB or B. The holsters with number 33 were for small revolvers, Colt Cobra and Detective Special, S&W Chief....

No ES 32 on this list. :(

E 32 for S&W Combat Masterpiece and Magnum, Model 19, 15, Military Police Model 10, 12 fwiw....

H-13

Here is a picture of my H-13 Brauer Bros. It fits my M37 perfectly. It is my everyday carry holster.
Peace,
gordon
Another nice thing about it is that the retention strap goes over the back of the trigger guard allowing the ability to secure a J frame with a bobbed or no exposed hammer:p

Rocketdog:

Does your chart list the fit for H 21? I'm looking at one that I think might fit my pre-17, but I'm not sure. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Thank you,
Donald

Sir,

The chart I have, on the back of a Brauer Bros. Mfg. Co. holster box from the 1980s, has a column for FH, H, HE and Y Series holsters. The listings for "21" include:

S&W Military Police, Model 10, 12, 6" barrel,

H&R Model 999, 939, 940, 6" barrel,

High Standard Sentinel 9188-9192, 6" barrel.

Not sure what a pre-17 would be listed as, but under S&W there is a listing for K Masterpiece 22 - 32 - 38 Model 14, 16, 17, 19, 48, 53, 6" barrel, holster "42" in that column. There are five listings for holsters under columns for other series, for these revolvers.

I hope this helps, and have a great holiday weekend!

Gene

Gene,

Thank you very much; this is very helpful. Looks like I need to look for a #42!

Best,
Donald
