LGS friends of mine gave me this recently. The owner inspired me to join the SWCA and get onto the S&W Forum.

It seems to me that carrying a briefcase with this logo might bring unwanted attention to the person who has it.

I think it depends on where you are. I rotate between a S&W hat and a Springfield but then again I live 20 min from the S&W HQ.

I wear my Smith hat when I travel and I’ve never had a comment or even a second look. Here in TN you’re more likely to get a comment like, I have a Smith or I carry a Smith too, than anything negative.

I know a guy with a 5.56 sticker on the back of his Subaru Outback. I told him people probably think “ he’s driving a Subaru. Must be a Bible verse”.

I've had people ask if my 5.56 oval sticker was in reference to a run I participated in. I just chuckle and say "yes".
If you get it - you get it. If you don't, it don't matter.

Yup, got these when attending a manufacturer's product training session when I was with Gander mountain.

Do you still have this briefcase and is it for sale? If so if I paid for shipping would you ship it to Penn. This would be great for gun shows Tulsa and the like' Thank you, David Nowak

I do not and would not use a "marked bag", briefcase or tote with any Gunmaker's name or logo on it. I actually have a brand new leather bag sent to me after I bought a new Colt many years ago and I have not used it yet. No sense in advertising that I am a "Gun Guy" or even suggesting there is a gun inside (even if there is not) which opens me up to another liability.

The only use I can thing of for marked bags is maybe to go to the Range with - and only if it gets exposed only at the Range - where others wouldn't blink an eye.

In general I do not like advertising any manufacturer's name of brand / logo unless they are gonna pay me to do so. I even take the Dealer's sticker or license plate frame off of a new car when I get it. I don't care to advertise for them.

First, if I was so inclined, it wouldn't bother me. I'd only take it to appropriate places or where everyone knows my hobbies.

David Nowak above was very clear on this:

I agree totally.

Hmmm....we have a big outdoor/hunting extravaganza coming soon. I might just carry that briefcase because you just know I'll be shopping for something! :D
