My son has been suggesting it is time we replace our 19" TV with a new, larger skinny TV; I've been dreading doing, as a large TV does not fit in our beautiful entertainment center. I finally did it, gave away my old TV and the stand/center and bought a whole new set up, including a BluRay CD player contraption with "WiFi", and a new TV Stand/Credenza. Since I don't know beans about these new gadgets, I asked a young friend to come to may house and set it up for me. Dang it, The WiFi thing didn't work, "Not compatible with Mac", said the manufacturer, Apple said the same thing. I have an iMac, and both TV and CD Player are LG. The young feller tried for over two hours to program the wireless router (Belkin), and kept getting "Not connected to internet". The CD Player is an LG BD590. Any one here know a way to make these things work? Thanks.

Pete

Some of the retailers offer installation services but I feel your pain friend....I still use a VCR which my kids think is hilarious but I don't care, it works fine for me but I wish I could figure out how to make it stop blinking 12:00 12:00 12:00...Oh well at least it's right 2 times a day

I have a Belkin Wireless router that I use for both of my home laptop computers. They have online help people(who sound Indian) that should be able to walk you through the setup and you can Google for Belkin customer service and get their number. My Compac computer was much more difficult to set up than my Toshiba and I don't know anything about Macs.

Sounds like more of a protocol (for example using WPA2 instead of WPA-PSK for network passkey authorization ) issue than hardware incompatibility , unfortunately a couple decades of computer experience says you need an onsite tech . If you bought it at a big box store like BestBuy they will usually have one of their GeekSquad members help you out .

Oldfella hope you have better luck with your Belkin router than I am having with mine. Keeps losing the signal for some reason. About ready to burn it in the burning barrel. I want to download and stream Netflix movies and other WI-FI content but it does not always work.

Well, my big TV, satellite receiver and CD player aren't connected to the internet and, considering the quality of the average new movie, I'm not missing anything.

Easy fix! Same as the check engine light in my Jeep. A piece of black tape!
