Checked the available chart but could not find a match. What gun would fit in a holster marked 01-260LW-2?

Just from looking at a picture I found, I would GUESS that it may fit
a J Frame with 2" barrel. The L is probably for lined and the W for
basket Weave. Nice looking holster. Clever design.
PS The charts on here only go to 1975. I think your holster is
from around 1980.

Per a 1985-6 catalog size code 2 fits all common 2” & 2 1/2” revolvers. That’s a little broad in my book but I guess that’s what the Velcro is all about.

But what is size code 01?
Reason I wonder is the picture I found has a ruler showing the width
of the holster at about 3 inches. That's about the typical width of a
J Frame. K Frames are closer to 4 inches in width.

Google turned up pictures looking like this one with the number 2604 from Chad in 2010. Post 56 in the chart thread.
The Concealer holster also turns up with a series of numbers - 01 604 16 - like the OP's holster but sometimes with "regular" style markings BC-xx.

I'd want reassurance that it's a Bucheimer and not a Bucheimer-Clark! Their maker's marks are very similar but their sizing systems are not.

It is a 2" and I believe for a J Frame. On the back is the Bucheimer
logo, BUCHEIMER (only) 01-260LW-2 PAT. NO. 4,312,466 No mention
of Clark, so it must be Bucheimer. I believe the first digits 01 are the
size code. 01 is 2" J Frame.

I found the requested holster in a 1985-6 Bucheimer catalog that came in an Evaluators Ltd. inventory. A quick scan of the price list leads me to believe that 01 means it’s a holster. Belts are 02, clubs and saps are 03, cartridge and clip carriers are 04-the ‘80’s were a freewheeling time, you could call magazines clips- and onward. Luckily Bucheimer no longer made dog collars, just dog pads which are prefix 40.
The next number is the holster type, the holster requested is called the Accomodator. The last number is listed as the model number but is really the size code, 2 being the model number for “Will accommodate all popular 2”, 2 1/2” revolvers”. Model 4 will accommodate all popular 4” revolvers and all popular 4” & 5” autos, which of course is why they called this the Accommodator. The size codes for other holsters are more specific-1 for the Chiefs Special and like, 2 for the Detective Special, 3 for 2” K frame, etc. Now I’m tired and confused and of course my hip is hurting so that’s all for now. Bucheimer had 102 years to figure this system out according to the catalog cover “Since 1884”.

Excellent, TR. I'll try to codify that ... somehow ... for the chart thread.
A wild guess then that Chad's 2604 holster is a model 260 holster for a 4 inch revolver.

That is a fun one
. J.M. Bucheimer himself wasn't even born until 1890 (it's in The Book) so any older company had another name and other owners in 1884. When he died in '53 his son George (Richard) shifted operations in '56 from Towson (hence the markings 'Towson made') to Frederick; so we know that Bucheimer made holsters before '56. Beyond that I've not seen early enough catalogs to know when they started as holster makers; Lawrence, for example, not until about 1940. Suffice to say that JMB's numbering system, and the one adopted by S&W and even Colt towards the end, weren't consumer friendly and devised only for their own convenience (problems that Bianchi and Safariland and everyone else solved from the get-go in the '60s.
I met a lot of these people in the '70s and '80s, at the gun companies, and they might as well have been selling dishwashers for all they cared about what consumers needed or wanted.
