Cool! That Apple tree had nothing to do with them coming on over! :D

It's never too early to start thinking about Deer season.
Hope they hang around the property for you.

Chuck

If it's anything like my house, they'll be out of sight as soon as season opens.
I've seen literally dozens of different deer over the years, weeks before season opens, then on opening day, they seem to vanish.

Sometimes though, it works in the other direction.
Last year, this guy wandered under my bow stand on opening day and I had never seen him before.

Wishing you the best of luck.
Hopefully you'll be posting pictures of those deer in your hands. ;)

i know it's early but look whats in my backyard already.

Man, that one on the left has quite the rack -high, heavy beams. I would think he would score pretty well. If I may ask, where in the state are you located?(no, I'm not going to come over and steal your hunting grounds -just curious since I live in Ohio also).

The one on the left has great brow tines. I'll be hunting OHIO for the first time this year, can't wait!!

Junior and I were going to get the wasp nest out of the shooting shack and work on the food plot some this week but it's been raining for three days now. Flash floods yesterday and maybe more today. I live on a hill and don't worry much about the rain but I have to go into town later today and may have to contend with some high water. We're down to our last few packages of deer sausage and have one shoulder left. I'm ready to fill the freezer and the crock pot. Also, I need to go fishing a couple of more times and stock fish for the cooler months. I love fall and winter around here. Hunt on the cold days and fish on the warm days.

My apple trees in the back yard should start dropping soon and I'll see some deer there. Of course I don't shoot those but those in the fields and woods out back are fair game.
I should be healed up enough from back surgery to use my crossbow this bow season and shotgun/handgun in the later firearm season.
I'll probably be sticking to the ground blinds this year as a lot of climbing might not be wise this soon after surgery.
I also just retired so I have all of these seasons off work to go hunting.
I'm looking forward to doing some scouting just as soon as I'm able to.
