As many of you know, I lost my best friend and companion of 11 years April 23. Bucky, a border collie mix, died suddenly on that date. I miss him still.
But I want to report that Joe, Bucky's understudy, has stepped up to the plate and taken over, nicely, as the head dog in charge. As Bucky used to sleep at the foot of the bed, Joe is doing that now. He's two years old, and his puppyness is now pretty much over. He's well-behaved, very loving (especially since Bucky died) and very loyal. He's a great watchdog - I guess he learned from Bucky to question anyone not approved by us by barking fiercely. He's nice with his little brother Tige, a Boston terrier, and lets him play with his toys. In short, he's stepped into Bucky's footprints very nicely. I'm very proud of Joe and so thankful that he learned so much from Bucky.
Here's a picture of Bucky and Joe when they were together, taken about a year ago. They loved each other a great deal and enjoyed funning around. We're pretty lucky to be blessed with such special dogs.
