Yes, it's a first world problem.

I decided to save the junk fee for credit cards, and did the ACH payment method. It took a day for funds to be deducted from my account, but a week for it to process on their end, and it still hasn't shipped. Makes me wonder if the item wasn't actually in stock. I've used Bud's off and on for years, but this isn't the level of service I expect in 2025. I know, I'm spoiled. Just putting this out there for fellow shoppers considering using Buds.

I have experienced this multiple times in the past with many companies and almost every time the fault was with the process at the receiving bank.

The 3% surcharge for credit cards is so they don't have to send funds by carrier pigeon, I guess.

The card processor normally charges between 3-6%. They may just be passing on that additional cost. At 3%, they are not making extra profit.

I think compared to driving to the bank to deposit checks they're probably ahead if the eat the 3%. Especially if the surcharge drives customers elsewhere.

I've used a credit card and ACH with Bud's. ACH takes as long as 5 days for the payment to process and the item to go to shipping. Bud's is great about informing by email about the progress. I have seen items sit in shipping for a while, presumably because Bud's is buried. They have always come through, though. Anymore, I just use a credit card. Sure I get hit with the 3% fee, but I have gotten 2% back from Citi. Now I have another card that pays 3% for online transactions, so it's a wash. Bud's is reputable, but not always lighting fast.

I've heard both high praises and major complaints about Bud's so I guess it all depends on your luck. I know they are hit or miss at best from reading stories here and from friends who have used them. I have never purchased anything from them so I have no first hand experience with Bud's. That said, I much prefer to buy in person anyway as I like ti inspect before pulling out wallet.

Easiest way to avoid the slow shipping is to just drive there and buy!! I am about 15 minutes away when I am working so its no problem to just drop in and buy if needed.
