bullet knives

I bought a collection from 1982 to 2006, plus a couple specials, last labor day. All NIB, kept a coupled favorites and use an engraved Damascus folder as my EDC. I tried to sell them all as a collection, but got no interest. Once I broke up the collection, they sold very well, on average $50 each.

Sort of inherited a collection, ex father in law gave me a set that is suppose to go to my son. It will but I quit adding to the set last year. My son is not into knives much and the quality of the recent knives versus price has turned me off to spending 100 dollars a year to keep it going.

I used to collect them...THEN

Remington had a remarkable idea and created a big demand for these...what a marketing idea...create a demand then make a new one each year...trading in these at gun shows was a big deal...the 1982 1st year knife reached a value of $500 with each subsequent year less...THEN...just like antiques the market FELL out for them...now they are hard to sell unless you really "take a bath" on the prices...best way to describe these now is LOOK at what happened to "beanie babies"...you can't give them away now...kind of like the antique market in that NOBODY IS INTERESTED!

I don't collect them, but I do have one. It's the "Uplander" and it's my working upland bird/small game vest knife. It's wonderful; long thin blade, a gut hook, and a choke tube wrench that actually works. All I need, nothing I don't.

Have three or four of the JUMBO TRAPPER models and they are really astounding cutters... Have used two of them to gut deer over the years...

Not really into collecting the series...just enjoy those models...

after the first 5 years or so there wasn't any value in them other than being a decent pocket knives. I like the 1306 tracker and the small trapper. the large trapper is a pretty good knife but a little big to carry in the pocket

I do recall them. Didn't the Bullet knives come out around the same time Remington introduced the Model Four and Six rifles? Seems I recall them being advertised along side the new guns. I do have a Model Four but not the knife unfortunately.
