Looking for some recommendations. I'm looking to mount a Burris on my 29-5 using the factory tap holes. Research has yielded the Allchin and Raptor mounts for direct mounting. I've also seen the Weig-a-tinny but I feel that with that mount, as well as the picatinny mount and Burris would sit the sight too high. I'm leaning towards the Allchin since it comes in black, the Raptor only appears to come in stainless finish.

Thoughts? Pics? Experience? Alternatives?

Thanks in advance

Well, forum member raptor_ph of course! I have his product on a 629-6 5" and love it. Several members here are using his mount now. Great deal, great product, and lowest mount available for the FFIII if I'm not mistaken.

I think this mount was about $39 delivered. It fits perfectly :)

I prefer the Raptor mount myself. Not that I've had dramas with the Allchin, yet, but those wee nylon locating pins don't inspire confidence.

I have used the Allchin Mount and am very happy with it. I use his FFIII mount and the mount for the C-More Mark IV.

Raptor is a nice mount...Well made too....l just don't care for the FF3..

lts too small for me.. l have trouble finding the dot..

Here's one more vote in favor of the Raptor mount. I have it on two revolvers. I could not be more pleased.

Here's a link to the post with information on how to buy them:
FS: Reflex Sight Mounts for Smith & Wesson Revolvers

Thanks for posting the link for ordering. Picking up a 617 next week. I've got an FF2 and FF3 looking for a place to sit. If I like the mount, I'll pick one up for my 625.

Eight more votes for Raptor

I have this mount on eight different revolvers ranging from lightweight .38's thru .44 Magnum and it is flawless!!
Workmanship is excellent and positioning of sight is ideal.
