BUSHMASTER XM15

Yeah, you can't hardly go wrong at that price. My M4A3 was $650, plus, there is a $50 mail in rebate thru the end of the year. Don't forget to submit it. I think the dead line for submission is around the middle of January, but you have to buy it before 31 Dec.

I've only got 340 rounds thru mine, but no malfunctions. Fit and finish are decent. Accuracy with 55gr ammo is about 3 MOA for me, but might do better with a heavier bullet. And yes, the gas key is well staked on the BCG.

I upgraded to an M16 profile BCG and an H carbine recoil buffer. The M3 has a removable carry handle with a picatinny rail under it, so I took that off and put on a Primary Arms red dot.

Klyde ... For that price, it's almost a no-brainer. I've owned several Bushmasters over the years, and found them to be excellent ARs. The Ilion versions had significant QC issues initially (as did everything coming from Remington at that time) but I believe most of those have been fixed.

I have that rifle and like it quite a bit. I paid much more than you did though as bought it right after the ban was lifted.
I've a few hundred rounds through mine with no problems either. I haven't shot it in awhile though as I built an AR with dedicated 22lr upper that gets all the use now. I do need to get the Bushmaster out though just to stay familiar with it.

If it is a "new" Bushmaster, that's about what its worth in my opinion.

If you just want a range toy, I'd say go ahead. If it is for serious use, I'd look elsewhere.

I have one of the models with the quadrail. I paid a lot more than that for mine. That's a good price. Mine has a 1 in 9 twist barrel. No problems, and great accuracy. You did well.

I have a Bushmaster I bought about eight or nine years ago. M4 type with detachable carry handle. It's had at least a thousand rounds through it, probably more. My daughter loves to burn rounds throught until its very hot. I have never had any stoppages. Accuracy is as good as any I have had except for my old Colt HBAR Match...Twist, according to the barrel marking is 1 in 9". That is way less than mine cost. Seems like a very good deal to me.

Thanks Bozz. Can't find any info on rifling twist. I'm guessing 1/8". I have a stash of 69 gr Sierra's in the squirrel pile.

My buddy bought the A3. I bought the A2 because it will keep me from spending money on optics.

Mine has 1:7 barrel twist. Guessing yours does to. Either way, 69 grain should work with a 1:8 just fine.
