I recently purchased a Bushnell Trophy 1x32 T-Dot reticle sight for my 15-22. I haven't had the pleasure of shooting with it yet; I am thinking of sending it back to Bushnell to be checked out. This optic can has 2 colors for illumination for the reticle - red or green.

The red is great; very bright. The problem I think I have is with the green reticle. The color is very washed out. I would compare it to the color of original Gatorade......more of a yellow-green. The image on the box shows a very solid green color; of course, the green image on the box is just a simulation.

I know that a few of you have this same optic, and I'd love to hear your thoughts. I am thinking I may have a bad LED......as I have also had some flickering when using the green illumination. not every time, but sometimes.

the following pics are of the green reticle in its brightest setting (5).

here's a couple shots from a further away distance (making the reticle appear larger and easier to see in pics.) Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. MY phone take terrible indoor lighting pictures!!! very grainy!!
the more I look at these pics, the more I think I am just not going to care about the green reticle....... I doubt I'll ever use it for target shooting, anyways. these pics show the red reticle at the #2 setting, and the green reticle is at the #5 setting. the red reticle is actually very a very sharp and distinct red; It didn't come out so well in these pics. and, in these pics, the green reticle looks greener than it really is, too........ I give up!!!! <<shaking my head......>>

Mine is the same. The green is for use at night or very low light. Try it in the dark, you should be able to see it better.

Your scope is doing what Bushnell designed it to do. Red is for bright light condtions, Green is for low light conditions. In low light conditions you don't need your eye socket lighting up like a Jack 'O Lantern to see the reticle. :D

Read Bushnell web site.

Thanks for the response. I know that the green is for low light use.....i was just concerned that the led for the green reticle may have been bad as the color was rather muted.

Yeah, what they all said.
I can barely see the green reticle at 1 setting in a normally lit room, and it's practically invisible in sunlight at any setting, but this is by design. The green reticle is for use at night or in very dim settings where the bright red reticle would kill your night vision.
Try turning off all the lights in a room at night and let your eyes get used to the dark. Then, turn on the red reticle to 1. You won't be able to see jack because the red reticle is too bright. Now, try the same thing with the green reticle at 1 or 2. I think you'll see that the guys at Bushnell knew what they were doing.

Quick Question....

Will I have to take off my irons to fit the sight?

Or maybe a riser?

Thanks.

M

No, the Bushnell Trophy MP has an integrated 2-part base that loosens up easily to fit over the 1913 rails. You will not need to remove your iron sights to install this optic. The base provides the correct height to correctly co-witness the reticle with your iron sights. You will not need a riser.
