ive made my decision to go with the Bushnell Tactical Elite 1x32 Red/Green T-Dot Riflescope and am currently thinking about converting back to a factory front sight... does anyone know if this scope cowitnesses with the front sight or will i need a riser?

and doews anyone kow if a riser that attaches with set screws... i dont want big ole knobs coming out of the side of it if i dont have to :D

You do not need a riser.

I never have understood this whole cowitness thing. It will depend on how much cheek you place on the stock and that will vary depending on position.

But the answer to your question is it is close but not exact. I don't worry about it.

Depends on what you have for a front sight. Might work with the factory or your new one. You'll just have to wait and see.

I have this exact sight on my 15-22. I've yet to try it out on either of my center-fire AR's. The glass is clear & the dot very easy to see. I've co-witnessed it with my MagPul flip ups, to the center of the optic.

I like it.

Madmax is correct. The back-up top sights are high off the bore axis. Once you figure out your hold off at different ranges, they work in a pinch.

Would this be a good choice for someone new that don't know what they really want? I like the changeable dot size from 1 to 10 MOA.. I have a flat top with fold up YHM sights.. this unit is a full size rifle with solid stock 2006 Bushmaster XM15 E2S rifle in 5.56 NATO.. George

Bane, I was looking at the same scope. I read too many negative reviews, especially about the battery cap staying on and getting stripped too easily. I just don't need more headaches, so I backed off. I hope you get a good one with no issues.
