Do you ever watch an item for sale here or on an auction site and finally get the nerve to bid on it or say "I'll take it" and instantly have buyers remorse?? I did recently on a GB item....it all worked out OK as there was someone even dumber than me and he outbid my offer. :p

What's your story?

Where is Cajunlawyer? I seem to recall a couple of his stories that involved late nights and adult beverages that resulted in winning bids.

Yea....adult beverages and actions don't go well together! :o

I've got one now I'm thinking of doing something on...but there is something that just doesn't feel right - you know?

I ask questions, the dealer answers that one - and only that one and doesn't give anything else...kind of like I'll tell you if you ask but won't say anything unless you do ask. Makes me real nervous.

He says never been fired - I'm thinking LNIB but he won't say that.....

That's happened to me at live auctions with my only comfort being that deep down I knew someone else wanted it almost as bad as I did. I've never gotten burned on stuff I bought for the long haul, however, if I were to do it to flip right away, that'd probably be another story.

I have at least been smart enough to not bid war. I put my max bid in and if it goes beyond then I just didn't want it bad enough. I have bought some stuff that when I opened the box I thought... WHY?!?!?!?

Because like you, I have said later it seemed like a good idea at the time.

LOL... I wish. I just put up the first "I'll take it" over on CalGuns buy & sell board & the guy sold it to someone else "per PMs."

Oh man - that's not right!!! I would be madder than **** and would probably let him know it. PM's or not it should be first on the forum to state "I'll take it" some people have no class.

I spent quite a bit of time earlier this year looking for and finally bidding on a birthday year (1950) K-22. I paid more than what I thought was a "good" price, but I justified it by that fact that it was a 1950 era serial number. I had a tinge of buyer's remorse until I got it in hand. I continued to search high and low for another K-22. Why? I don't know... it seemed like a good idea at the time. A sympton of THE disease. Fast forward a coupla months later. I found a 1952 era K-22 on GB and posted what I thought would be a low ball bid. Imagine my surprise when I was the winning bidder. Real buyer's remorse now, but I DO have a pretty well matched set. The collection begins...

I don't know about that. Some Danfield's Private Reserve saved me a few nights ago. I'd been watching this Mod 25 on GB and made up my mind to pull the trigger, so to speak.
The ad distinctly says what you're getting is what's in the pictures - Period.
So, before hitting the buy it now button I looked at the 4 pics one last time - Danged if they weren't of 2 different revolvers!
I'd looked at this auction several times and really didn't notice it till I'd had a snort.

I'd post the auction , but I believe it's still active... Yep it is.

If you search GB for "S&W 625-6" I believe you can figure out which auction it is though.

THE dumbest thing about this is that it's so obvious that I almost can't believe I missed it - Senior moment?

I've not had Danfields Private Reserve - maybe that's the problem - just drinking the cheap stuff.

That's a good point though - I look at the listings so many times that you miss stuff, like add 4% if using CC or shipping at 3X the normal cost. Why can't these listings all be "standard fare" with all the same conditions? I just wanted to buy a .45 that I could carry!

I have a friend who got way too deep into his scotch one AM after playing poker at the local casino. He found his way onto GB and put bids in on several S&W revos. He was shocked to learn later(sober) he had won several .44 Magnums. He says he's happy with them but never mentions what he paid.

Did you email him? He's put up a couple of disclaimers about the pics. His feedback isn't what you'd like to see either.

I noticed the seller was from Florida. No offense to our many Florida members, but is it just me that sees so many auctions on GB that I think "something's hinky here" and the seller is from Florida?

I have had buyers remorse, sellers remose, marriage remorse, occupation remorse and about every other type remorse there is.

People like that aren't Floridians. They're squatters.

Ya'll are a fine group to be associated with, I have been guilty of chasin a Marlin Rifle and paid WAY MORE than I should of. I can't even blame in on rotgut whiskey, sitting here in Kandahar. A NIB Marlin 1894 in .32 H&R magnum.

Ther absolute worst feeling in the world is checking your e mail the next day and seeing something like 10 bid confirmations. Then you spend the next few days sweating it out and giving a little sigh of relief as each outbid notice hits the in box. :D
If the outbid notices equal the bid confirmations-it's ok, but I've wound up with a 64, a SBEII, a 337, a 686-4+ 2.5", a 317 and an Old Army that I really didn't need-but got at great prices ;)

Buyers Remorse??
Yes, Yes. My method to get out of the deal is to move to a different locale and change my name. Be aware that this method will not work with a over due DVD or Book.
