Local suppliers are running low as are online suppliers. Any suggestions of where I can get some ammo (38 spl & 380) will be greatly appreciated.

Georgia Arms has a plated 158 grain SWC $280 for a 1000. Only 38 Special they are showing. I have shot a couple of thousand rounds of their lead SWC with no complaints. Never tried that round. They ship them in an ammo can.

If you "Search" this forum you'll find many recommendations with comments on their past experiences.

From reading these posts over the years, I have developed my own list"

1. SGAmmo - outstanding packing, shipping, and prices. Sam is one of the best. My "Go To Supplier"!

2. TargetSports USA

3. Midway

4. Brownell's

5. Bud's Gun Shop - the last order that I placed Bud's "drop ships" - You order from Bud's but the ammo is shipped from another subcontractor somewhere in the United States.

Especially during these times, pricing and availability will vary. I usually check all five for a price comparison before I place my orders. One or more often offer "Free Shipping" - Yahooo!

+1 on SG Ammo. Also highly recommend Ammoseek.com for a search. If dealing with a vendor you have not used before, recommend doing a little research on the vendor before placing your order. Just got out of a problem with a vendor, who a had a very spotty past when I did a simple BBB check for her area AFTER I had placed my order and she collected payment from my card. I didn't start my research until after I started to see "issues". Live and learn.

Check out ammoseek.com. It aggragates ammo from a lot of vendors. You can specify caliber, brand, bullet weight, casing, etc. It updates every few minutes.

Sg ammo is easy to deal with and has always been fairly priced.Theyve kept their .38 spc supply pretty fluid.
