Caj: Could this happen in Louisiana?

That is one DUMB sum'gun!!! A cursory reading suggests that he will at the very least have some problems with the bar association-one of which in not obtaining written permission of his client before associating other counsel in prosecution of the class action. If it can be proved that he purposly left his name out of it in order to get money for something he wrongly did, I see severe sanctions inclusing disbarrment. You ought to see some of the stuff the real estate closing attorneys do to pad fees in the secondary mortgage market-it will make you puke. I've turned in two myself.
What some of these scum sucking bottom feeders do never ceases to amaze me.

Madison County is a legal sinkhole. It's where all the Trial Lawyers want their cases heard, because MadCo jurors are famous for handing out multi-million dollar settlements over practically anything involving "mental anguish" or "pain and suffering". It's nationally famous as the place to get your frivolous lawsuit heard, and make a bundle. It's also home to some of the shadiest and most disreputable attorneys in the country. I've dealt with a few, and can attest to the shady practices that are common there.

The legal wranglings that this stooge got involved with are nothing out of the ordinary.

Anything can happen in Louisiana. We have the best politicians money can buy. We have the worst voters money can buy. We just gave a very large payout for a company to locate in LA. They opened and immediately laid off all the employees they had hired. Then, a few months later, after doing absolutely nothing and not having any employees, they shut their doors and leave the country with all the state money they were given to locate here. Even the Governor was on hand for their grand opening but they never opened.

I have a friend who is a retired BR cop and good guy.
I take very frequent trips to the lower half of Louisiana---day trips, just getting lost down south and seeing where I end up. good stories are associated with these trips.
A couple of years ago I made down to Grand Isle---first trip down there in 30 years.
I liked the changes I saw associated with the ease of getting thru what used to be the longest and slowest trip in the western hemisphere. There are by pass roads around the small towns S of Lockport---those endless miles of nothing but cops wanting to write tickets--an down to Grand Isle.
I noticed the construction of a MAJOR freeway complex associated with the large Natural Gas recovery plant down there.
It has a spur that went off east towards the Mississippi and then dead ended out in the bay. Thought it might be the beginning of a FWY or road to intersect with the road out of Nawlins along the Mississippi.
Then I remembered the road that Huey built across the river at Gramercy. It was a big ol bridge, fit for anything, but it just crossed the river to a turnaround---the bridge to nowhere.
I called Buddy about the road and he confirmed my suspecions when he said Bill--do I have to remind you that roads don't have to anywhere in louisiana.
Blessings

Actually Huey didn't build that bridge-I believe it was Jimmie Davis that had it built-That's why it is called the Sunshine Bridge. And for your information, it DOES serve a purpose-If I go to Baton Rouge via Morgan City and LA 70 instead of Through Lafayette on I-10 I hit the interstate east of BatonRouge and have an excuse to pull over at Cabellas on my way into town :D
From my office in Franklin, it is just about even regarding time of trip to BR.
