Another thing in the 41s favor is that there are some pretty good heavy bullets that can be loaded in the 41...Just like with the heavy bullet 44s and 45s you don't NEED whiz bang velocities to do the work needed in defensive loads. And there is no heavy bullet loads in the 10mm. I can tell y'all that my 245 gr 41 bullet(WFNGC) has accounted for quite a few critters and almost all one shot kills on large animals(one 2 shot grizz with 2 375 JIC shots) shooting clear through front to back and side to side. You usually can't do that with the lighter bullets necessary for normal semi auto rounds...even in the 10mm. If all I had was a 9mm/10mm/45 auto...of course I would use 'em. But the revolver with it's heavier loads is still better for some of life threatening encounters...especially in the woods and forests...maybe on the streets too. JMO
