The lockwork in a Governor is basically the same as any K, L, or N frame. You are moving a more massive cylinder - and you have to pop shotgun primers, meaning more hammer strike energy - and greater DA effort. I put a lower spring rate rebound spring and standard S&W hammer leaf spring in mine - it improved the DA effort - but it isn't as slick as my 625JM, 627 Pro, or 66. They are 'Federal primers only'. A range-nerd/jerk referred to my Governor as 'That S&W 'Sigma' revolver!'. I have shot a friend's Governor which he resprung with Wolff springs and it is definitely lower effort - and pops shotgun primers, too.
I would rate my Governor as 'acceptable' for it's short range defender mission. My soft triggers are in my fun/plinker revolvers. In my book, my Governor's forte is a self-defender in .45ACP - a la the similar 325NG - but over $300 less. It works for me.
